The supernatural TV series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" may have been off the air for decades, but it is far from forgotten.

In March 2022, BOOM! Studios announced that they plan to release a "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" 25th Anniversary special.

There is not much known about the special so far, but the studio is described as an "oversized one-shot celebrating the 25 years of Buffy Summers."

The 25th anniversary special is described as an epilogue of the first three years of the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" comics, which picked up where the TV series left off. The special will treat fans to an "epic multiversal Buffy team-up," which will serve as a prologue to the beginning of a brand new series.

"Buffy the Vampire Slayer" first debuted on March 10, 1997, and completed its seven-season run in 2003. It featured vampire slayer Buffy Summers and her two best friends, Willow and Xander, battling the forces of evil with the help of her Watcher, Sunnydale High School librarian Rupert Giles.

The TV series followed Buffy's journey through high school, college, and struggling to make a living while taking care of her younger sister, Dawn, after the death of her mother - all while saving the world and preventing the apocalypse. Multiple times.

The comics series picks up where the TV series left off, although it was met with mixed reviews from critics and fans alike.

Although a new reboot of the "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" TV series is supposedly in the works, little has been discussed about the project; however, fans still have the comics to tie them over until then!
