This is season 2 of Verzuz as fans were calling for this matchup for months. This was originally supposed to be T.I. vs Jeezy but fans wanted to see the long-time rivals go at it instead. Gucci was the first one to announce this last weekend as he called Jeezy “Snow Cone” instead of his usual “Snowman” nickname that he’s had for over two decades.
Gucci Mane Clowns Jeezy’s Outfit From His ‘The Recession 2’ Album Cover
Gucci has been dissing Jeezy ahead of the Verzuz matchup and the latest is the outfit that Jeezy wore from his upcoming ‘The Recession 2’ album that arrives on November 20. Gucci posted a video to Instagram of him running on a hill and claimed that fashion will be key tomorrow.
“Check this out, for everybody asking me, the Verzuz is real,” said Gucci. “Me and Snow Cone will be in the same room but this is what I wanna know, right? Is fashion a part of the Verzuz? ‘Cause I’ma have that shit on tomorrow. And if buddy has on the same funny-ass shirt and the dumbass hat he had on in the goddamn album cover, I ain’t doing it.”
Gucci Also Laughed At Killing Jeezy’s Friend In 2005
Prior to this latest diss, Gucci also reposted a meme explaining how Jeezy will get angry when Gucci plays the 2012 diss record, “Truth.” Here, the East Atlanta rapper said “Go dig ya partna up n*gga, bet he can’t say s*it.”
This is in reference to Gucci shooting and killing Jeezy’s friend, Pookie Loc, in 2005. This happened due to Gucci being set up to be killed at a home. Gucci fired the gun in self-defense. He ended up digging Loc outside of a local school.
Jeezy’s The Recession 2 Album Comes 12 Years After The First
The Recession 2 arrives over a decade after the first one, which is regarded as one of Jeezy’s best projects of his career. The lead single is “Therapy For My Soul.” The original Recession album contained the hit single “My President” featuring Nas, which paid homage to the-Democratic nominee for president, Barack Obama. Another huge record from the album was “Put On” feat. Kanye West. The remix would then go on to feature fellow Def Jam label mate, Jay Z.
Gucci And Jeezy Will Also Reportedly Be Hosting Verzuz Afterparty Together
Hip-Hop fans are preparing themselves for a very wild night between Jeezy and Gucci on Verzuz. Many hope that they can finally end their 15-year beef as well as both will be participating in this in-person. They will also surprisingly be hosting an afterparty at the Compound nightclub in downtown Atlanta. Hopefully, things go smoothly there with Jeezy and Gucci showing each other love. Many have the idea that this will be the best Verzuz of 2020 and with the two celebrating at the end.
