While the hobby has practical purposes, Raisman also explains how gardening has brought her peace and joy.
“I love how so many of you share your gardening tips with me & share what you like growing ??? It makes me happy that so many of you are into gardening and that some of you are trying it for the first time,” Aly Raisman captioned the Instagram photo of herself next to her growing plants.
The gymnastics star continued:
“In this photo I’m growing flowers. I’m looking forward to making a flower bouquet. I find arranging flowers to be meditative & arranging flowers allows me to be creative.”
Aly Raisman has recently explained to fans on social media just how important gardening has become in her life, especially during the uncertain year that 2020 has become.
“Hey guys! As many of you may know, gardening has brought me so much joy. It has become a safe place for me in my life. I love that in gardening, no two days are the same & there is something to look forward to each day,” Raisman wrote while showing off her indoor garden.
She’s also turned the passion into a revenue stream by collaborating with the popular gardening company, AeroGarden.
“The process of planting a seed & watching it grow into something beautiful is so cool & it honestly never gets old. That’s why I’m excited to share that I have teamed up with @officialaerogarden!” Raisman revealed.
She explained, “I have been a longtime fan of AeroGarden, I actually bought my mom one for her birthday a few years ago & I thought it was so cool that I got one for myself. This garden sits right on the counter, grows in water and is super low maintenance.”
Aly Raisman has explained that it’s not just the act of gardening that is keeping her calm during times of stress and anxiety, it’s also the effect it has on her senses.
“Focusing on smells can help me feel more in my body when I feel stressed or tense. One of my favorite smells is the smell of flowers that will turn into lemons or limes.”
It seems Aly Raisman’s emotional well-being is blossoming just like her beautiful garden of fruits and vegetables!
