However, Savre, who plays Bishop, teased in a recent interview that it wouldn’t be that simple for the couple. The actress also teased about some bumps and struggles that her character will face in her future on the show. Here is everything the Wild About Harry actress revealed.
Bishop And DeLuca Planned To Have A Baby
Bishop and DeLuca finally tied the knot in the finale of season four and thrilled their fans. Unfortunately, their special night was ruined by a text notifying the entire team that the battalion chief had removed Bishop as head of the station because she defied his orders, broke policy, and used an unauthorized car to transport an injured boy.
Later on, Bishop spent a day with Dean Miller’s daughter, and the experience caused her to change her mind about having kids. She then told DeLuca, and the two decided to consider having a child.
In episode seven of season five, the two decided that DeLuca would contribute the egg and carry the child. They then had a private and romantic day, where fans got to see them share their dreams for their future family and bond further.
And in the winter finale, the duo finally announced their plans to have a child together to the station. So far, the two have had a happy and romantic time together, and fans have expressed how much they love it.
Savre Hinted At Some Challenges Bishop Will Face
In a recent interview with Showbiz CheatSheet, Savre spoke about her character’s future in Station 19 and teased at some challenges Bishop will face regarding her and DeLuca’s plans to have a baby.
She said, “There’s a lot of elements and a lot of steps that have to be taken and in regards to who’s going to be the sperm donor. Is it going to be somebody from a company or a donor place, or is it going to be someone they know? I think that playing with that and seeing kind of how that plays out is really interesting.”
Savre also mentioned that there would be the emotional rollercoaster and stress that will come with the couple’s decision to have a child and the actual process of having one, especially since Bishop and DeLuca plan to use a donor.
The Big Question Of Who The Sperm Donor Will Be
With Savre’s statements and the history of Shondaland shows, fans of Station 19 know that it is very likely that the sperm donor for the couple’s baby will be someone they are already familiar with, someone already on the show’s cast.
Many hope that it will be because it will fall in line with Savre’s hints and bring more drama and excitement to the show. If so, it also births more important questions like whether Bishop and DeLuca will argue and fight over who the donor will be.

However, many fans have also expressed that they hope the donor choice won’t lead to future complications like Sofia, the Arizona-Callie-Mark baby.
Savre Also Spoke About Bishop’s Dreams Of Being Captain
In her CheatSheet interview, Savre said, “And then and then the other thing is just Maya’s heart and her desire to be captain and how that’s going to play out- what’s going to happen there.”
This came after viewers found out that a new female fire chief would be in the winter finale. Bishop expressed her excitement over this news as she loved that a woman would be at the helm of the fire department. Fans also hoped that this news meant Bishop could be captain again.
Savre also said, “I think we have always seen Maya struggle with the balance between her career and her personal life. And before Carina, the only thing that mattered was her career. And now, what should be the most important thing is her relationship with her wife and her desire to have a child. So it’s the balance of those two things.”
