Desmond Tutu passed away at the age of 90 on December 26, 2021.

He was diagnosed with prostate cancer in the late 1990s but the cause of death was not disclosed.

Former President Barack Obama called Tutu “a mentor, a friend, and a moral compass for me and so many others.”
