Fresh off of her split from husband Brooks Laich, Julianne Hough is seemingly not letting anything hold her back as she strives to develop an independent, successful, and happy future for herself, including the feelings past relationships brought about in her.
During a recent Instagram Live conversation with Valeria Lipovetsky, Hough discussed how the time that she spent “living the high life” with one of her ex’s (Seacrest) helped largely shape what she wanted to get out of the rest of her life henceforth.
A High Profile Relationship
Per E! Online, Hough and Lipovetsky covered a myriad of personal details within their conversation, but one of the most pertinent ones was when the “Rock of Ages” actress referenced her two-year-long romantic stint with the famous host.
“It was 2013 and I had just gotten out of a relationship that was very high profile,” she explained during the Instagram session. “I was on private planes and yachts and living in a very, very well-off house and my life was pretty different from where I grew up.”
Not Feeling Like She Deserves It All
The luxuries that dating Seacrest afforded her made her happy on face-value, of course, but the star maintained that although all of the nice fancy things were fun, she truly felt in her head that she didn’t deserve to be around any of it at all.
“I had just gotten out of that relationship because I wanted to create that for myself because I kind of felt like I didn’t deserve it,” she recounted during the conversation, maintaining that those benefits of fame and fortune were not exactly what she was looking for in life.
After The Breakup
Hough admits that her actions after the breakup from Seacrest were not her proudest, saying that she acted with reckless abandonment for the year following her split from Seacrest, who was 15 years her senior.
“During that year, it was kind of my wild year of abandon and freedom and I realized that the pendulum swing went from one side to the extreme,” she explained. “I was like, ‘OK, there’s got to be something in the middle where I can find fulfillment without having to be so dynamic and extreme.'”
Now, after another three-year-long marriage, this time to Brooks, Hough was ready to call it quits again, citing differences that drove the pair apart from what was largely reported as the time spanning from 2019 onward.
The “Footloose” star officially filed for divorce from Brooks in November and is now looking to better herself as an individual before committing to any other serious relationships.
“Nothing is better than getting to sit down with a self aware, motivated and inspirational woman! @juleshough has won Emmys, conquered the entertainment world, and created @kinrgy to center our minds and bodies. So excited to share this chat with you guys ??” Lipovetsky captioned the post detailing her conversation with Hough on Instagram.
