BTS is having a rough holiday season. Jin, one of the singers of the wildly popular K-POP group has tested positive for COVID-19 following his return to South Korea to relax a bit after the band’s first arena tour in the US since the pandemic started.
Unfortunately, Jin will have to battle the pesky virus and he isn’t the only one. Shortly after Jin announced he contracted COVID-19, RM, also announced he is positive for COVID-19.
Jin Tests Positive For COVID-19
Jin, whose real name is Kim Seok-jin, initially tested positive earlier this month forcing the other members to quarantine so they can get tested, just in case. Unfortunately, RM whose real name is Kim Nam-joon was just ready to leave his mandatory quarantine when his test came back positive.
RM exhibited no symptoms so needless to say, he was shocked when his test came back positive. As for Jin, his positive test was earlier this month and the second test came back negative, he left quarantine and later received another positive test. He went to get tested because he began feeling under the weather again.
Another member, Suga, tested positive before Jin and RM leading to speculation that he got some of his band members sick.
BTS Has No Contact Since Testing Positive
Thankfully, quick thinking stopped other band members from contracting the virus as well. BTS management company BigHit issued a statement assuring fans that everything is under control and that the BTS band members were currently not in contact with one another for safety.
“BTS members RM and Jin were diagnosed with COVID-19 on the evening of Saturday, December 25,” shared BigHit. “After returning on Friday the 17th from the United States following his personal schedule as part of his official vacation period, RM immediately underwent PCR testing, was found negative, and entered into self-quarantine in his home as mandated by COVID-19 control procedures.”
The statement went on to share that he wasn’t as lucky as he initially assumed. “He underwent PCR testing today before his scheduled release from quarantine and was found to be positive for COVID-19; he is currently exhibiting no particular symptoms.”
BigHit Released A Statement About The Band
The record label issued a similar statement regarding Jin. “Jin returned to Korea on Monday, December 6 and underwent PCR testing immediately after his return and again before his release from self-quarantine and was found negative on both occasions.”
But it seems like his symptoms were a little delayed. He soon began “feeling flu-like symptoms” and “he underwent PCR testing and was found positive for COVID-19 late this evening. He is exhibiting mild symptoms including light fever, and is undergoing self-treatment at home.”
BTS Band Member Recovering From COVID-19
While the band members are handling the virus well, fans are showing great concern for the talented bunch. #GetWellSoonJin is trending, and fans are “praying” for his recovery and his band members too, of course.
“Wishing you guys for speed recovery Pleading face please be healthy as soon as possible,” write a concerned fan. While others are already demanding photographic proof of them feeling better.
