“The truth” just got revealed by 50-year-old Kelly Ripa. The “Live! With Kelly and Ryan” host just posted an epic video to her Instagram, with the blonde’s 2.9 million followers getting a little show promo and the answer to what “people always ask us” – “How come you look so chipper in the mornings?” Together with 45-year-old co-host Ryan Seacrest and featuring executive producer Michael Gelman, the hilarious video suggested that the king and queen of morning television don’t have lives outside of their gig. Check it out below.
Scroll for the video. It comes as Kelly just today makes headlines for having a fan tell her that zip skirt was too tight on-set, with “American Idol” host Ryan recently fronting media outlets for taking time off due to a massive COVID scare.
The video, totally tongue-in-cheek, opened with Kelly and Ryan as they’re usually seen – behind the “Live!” desk and onset. “You two are here early,” Gelman was seen saying as he approached the set, looking a touch confused.
Keep scrolling for the video. After revealing that people always ask how the duo looks so “chipper” in the mornings, Kelly and Ryan revealed the joking “truth.” Namely, that “we live here.”
Footage then cut to Kelly zooming across the set on a scooter, the blonde flopping into bed in her PJs (with Ryan doing the same), plus the set seeming to feed these two no matter the hour.
Yes, they were seen with coffee, but there was what might be lunch or dinner as Kelly was casually seen by a defrosting chicken. More after the video.
“Hey, Kelly, where the chicken?” Ryan had asked, with the former “All My Children” actress replying: “Defrosting on Gelman’s stool.”
From brushing their teeth on-set to lights out, the video definitely did a good job of showing that Kelly and Ryan come 100% dedicated to “Live!” – the show earns mom of three Kelly $22 million a year, with Ryan reported to earn $10 million for the daily syndicated talk show.
It hasn’t been straight-forward with COVID, though, as both Ryan and Kelly have shown.
In October, Ryan both took a day “off” and stayed home as he awaited the results of a COVID test, later confirmed to be negative, with Ryan saying it felt “good” to see the result. One month earlier, the duo ended a 180-day stint of quarantine-set video streaming, with Kelly even telling her non-live audience that there are “all these new restrictions” right now.
Kelly and Ryan, now seated six feet apart, join the crew in not being allowed to enter the set without having tested negative for COVID. Scroll for Kelly’s husband’s penis drama – a whole other story.
