Instagram phenom Lindsey Pelas is sending out a sweet and caring message to a group of people who are often overlooked when it comes to dealing with the harsh isolation and quarantine moods that 2020 brought. The model isn’t forgetting that not everyone has a family or spouse to lean on when it comes to dealing with emotional insecurities and is hoping to break the stigma associated with asking for help during a pandemic and checking on those around us.
The 29-year-old influencer, who boasts an impressive 8.7 million followers on Instagram, took to the popular social media platform to deliver a long message to fans while sharing a hot new selfie.
“It’s been so long since I’ve posted a selfie and I thought this one accurately depicted how I’ve been feeling,” Pelas wrote.
She continued, “This year has been exceptionally kind and cruel to me> and everyone else in so many ways….I feel like it’s hardened me and softened me all at once.”
Pelas, who regularly gets blunt with her fans on social media and doesn’t have a problem calling out online trolls, admits that:
“I rarely get sentimental on social media. I find too many overtly emotional displays inauthentic,”
She added, “But I do think in all the of the well wishes and ‘bravery’ posts.. one group is consistently left out. So I thought I’d give it a go.”
Pelas explained she’s giving a shoutout to the “unmarried people. The non-parents. The ones who don’t live with family members.”
Lindsey Pelas, who has been the target of online hate and trolls during her career, continued that:
“This world is difficult and cruel and to conquer it without a lifeline… it’s like walking a tite rope without a net. When you make it to the end you’ll get to say you did it on your own, but the way there will be infinitely scarier.”
She had decided to take a personal stand, revealing, “The truth is if the internet is going to police what I wear and do, I’m going to start not caring and just be who I am.
Getting into why she decided to post the specific selfie on Instagram, Pelas said it wasn’t the usual characteristics that drew her to the photo:
“It wasn’t my glam or my hair… but a woman that’s changed a lot over one year. Eyes that have cried. A person who has dealt with a lot of shit… alone (like a lot of people who we don’t celebrate) and took bad news on the chin with a smile most of the time. A woman who won’t quit.”
However, when all else fails, the voluptuous model will always have her best assets, ending with, “the tits aren’t bad either ;)”
