Olympic gymnast Nastia Liukin is big-time bragging about her “pretty damn good” uppercut” – and she’s got plenty to brag about. The 31-year-old five-time Olympic medalist’s Thursday Instagram update showed her 1 million followers that balancing the beam isn’t her only skill, although the Moscow-born star did appear to have picked a pair of shorts that didn’t quite fit. Nastia, fresh from a giant anorexia clap-back and celebrating her October 30th birthday, also proved that she’s burning off the cake. Check it out below.
Scroll for the boxing action. Nastia, who stated she’s always been “thin” while clapping back at a comment about her lithe frame, spent much of her birthday swallowing the calories, with today seeing the Shake Shack burger and sprinkle donuts burned off.
The 2008 all-around Olympic gymnast’s post, coming as a paid partnership with Bright Fitness App, showed her stunning while striking a mean pose and with giant leather boxing gloves – Nastia’s massive thigh gap wasn’t on show, but that’s another story.

Nastia, a girly girl at heart and also a respected beauty blogger currently retailing her $55 Celery Green Cream, posed in skin-tight neon pink spandex and she was matching. She rocked a tight sports bra showing off her toned shoulders, with high-waisted shorts flaunting the legs – and, seemingly, peeling off her at the back. Fans might call Photoshop on that one.
Nastia opened her caption upbeat, asking fans what’s “stopping” them from achieving their goals as she eyes up 2021.
Nastia, wrote: “I almost stopped boxing because I couldn’t get back into the gym, but where there’s a will, there’s a way. I’m training with boxers like @jkofitnyc & @lionheart_health on @brightfitnessapp and now my uppercut is pretty damn good (if I do say so myself). How are you showing up for yourself today?”
Nastia, admitting in 2016 that she felt “lost” entering regular gyms after retiring in 2012 aged just 22, was nonetheless proving that she can transition. The star is also a giant Pilates lover. More after the photos.
Nastia abided by Instagram’s #ad, required for all paid promotions on the platform. The Olay influencer, also regularly shouting out clothing brand Revolve is set to earn decent pay, with earnings on Instagram correlating directly with following. Experts at Vox have suggested potential figures.
“Influencers with up to 1 million followers can get $10,000 [per post], depending on the platform, and 1 million followers and up, you’re getting into territory where they can charge $100,000. Some can even get $250,000 for a post!”
