Meagan Good & DeVon Franklin Negotiating Settlement In Their Divorce

Meagan Goodand Devon Franklin are already getting ready to settle their divorce after documents showed they've been separated for over 4 months.

According to new legal documents, obtained by The Blast, Franklin filed his preliminary declaration of disclosure which shows the court that he has already turned over all financial information to his ex-wife. In normal cases, this process is done towards the end of a divorce case and signifies a settlement is imminent.

"The preliminary declaration of disclosure shall include all tax returns filed by the declarant within the two years prior to the date that the party served the declaration. ... The preliminary declaration may also set forth the declarant's characterization of each asset or liability," a description of the document reads.

The legal move makes sense, considering DeVon claims the couple has been broken up for months and it's possible they have been working out the split ever since.

We broke the story, Franklin asked the court to terminate its ability to award either one of them spousal support -- again, indicating that they have a prenuptial agreement or have already worked out the finances. Interestingly, the motivational speaker says the former couple split on August 21, 2021. But, he didn't file for divorce until late December. The date is significant considering anything earned by either party beyond that date would be considered separate property.

The ex-couple issued a statement following the divorce filing, which makes it appear the split is completely amicable and the settlement might be a breeze.

"After much prayer and consideration, we have decided to go into our futures separately but forever connected," they said. 

Adding, "We celebrate almost a decade of marriage together and a love that is eternal. There’s no one at fault, we believe this is the next best chapter in the evolution of our love, We are incredibly grateful for the life-changing years we’ve spent together as husband and wife. We are also extremely thankful to God for the testimony being created inside us both and for blessing our lives with each other."

It should be noted, Meagan hasn't even responded to the initial divorce filing -- so, this is either going to be the easiest celebrity divorce we have ever seen -- or she might be preparing to fight the whole thing. Obviously, based on the "joint statement" it appears things are good for now. The couple doesn't have any children, so child support is off the table.

The famous couple was both successful and wealthy BEFORE they decided to tie the know, so it's possible they have a prenup and most of this is spelled out in the document.

Rumors started floating of a possible split after Franklin was absent from Meagan's premiere for the new Amazon Prime Series, 'Harlem' in New York. But, at the time, he supported his wife on Instagram, saying, "So proud of my love!"
