Britney Spears has sparked concern after posting her bathtime. The 38-year-old pop princess couldn’t catch a break on Friday as she updated her 26.8 million Instagram followers with a stunning bathroom shot showing what a soak looks like for the “Toxic” singer – with conspiracy theories surrounding Spears’ 2008-commenced conservatorship, the #FreeBritney movement was bound to pounce. Britney, fresh from a landmark video saying she’s the “happiest” she’s ever been, couldn’t keep the suspicions away today. Check out the photo and response below.
Scroll for the photo. It comes as Britney claps back at the haters – and it isn’t her first time – with a video seeing her say: “I’m the happiest I’ve ever been in my life. And I’m sending all of you guys a lot of prayers, wishes and a lot of love.”
The photo, opting out of showing the Grammy winner herself, instead showed a tiled bathroom and plenty of pink. A drawn bath, swirled with pink and blue soaps, was surrounded by lit candles and flowers, with plenty more floral displays seen around a wall hanging.
A caption from Britney, going a little cryptic, opened: “? ?????????the first thing I thought when I saw this was …. “I wonder if the flowers were staged just for this pic …… “
“Or is this what this person’s bathroom really looks like” ?????? !!!!!! Aren’t you curious ?? ????!!!!!” Britney added.
The likes came in fast, but so did the worries as fans continue to deem the singer’s Instagram a setup. 68-year-old dad Jamie Spears controls his daughter’s finances and many other aspects of her life.

“We all know this is NOT Britney who’s running the account,” a fan angrily wrote, with another suggesting that personal trainer boyfriend Sam Asghari is posting on the star’s behalf: “Hi Sam! We know it’s you who’s posting here,” they wrote.
July saw Britney call herself “authentic,” with latter months seeing the singer confirm that her posts aren’t recycled. More after the shot.
Britney has already made headlines for stating there’s a “bullying” aspect to responses left on her social media. Her most recent clap-back, bringing her in a frilly crop top as she slammed suggestions she’s not okay, came with her saying:
“Hi, so I know that there have been a lot of comments, and a lot of people saying a lot of different things about me” before confirming the “happiest” status. The news came as Britney claimed a small win in her legal battles, now being able to expand her legal team.
