Kaia Gerber has been told to “stop acting like you know anything about politics” – not the best feedback as the 19-year-old model confirmed today that she’d voted. Kaia updated her Instagram ahead of the weekend in a sheer crop top as she proudly announced having lost her voting virginity. The daughter to Cindy Crawford looked gorgeous as she kept COVID-safe in a face mask, but Kaia’s 6 million followers didn’t seem to keen on the teen’s caption. Check it out below.
Scroll for the photo. Kaia, who turned 19 this year and is currently in the news for dating “Euphoria” actor Jacob Elordi, had posted solo and in selfie mode. The Louis Vuitton face, peeking the camera from behind her black mask, had an “I VOTED” sticker on it, also showing off her super-slim frame in a totally sheer crop top with a black bikini worn underneath.
Peeping her jeans in the sunlight, Kaia confirmed: “I voted for the first time today.”
Keep scrolling for the reactions. Kaia’s lengthy caption saw her state being “proud” that she’d voted, also acknowledging that young people have so much “power to push this country towards progress.”
“The past four years have shown us how much damage can be done when our leadership prioritizes property over people, tolerates racism, and ignores science,” Kaia continued, adding: “If you’re not sure if you want to vote, i ask you to consider who and what will be most affected if you don’t.”
Kaia did receive the thumbs-up, also snagging herself a like from 57-year-old reality star Lisa Rinna, but comments racking up likes were slamming the beauty.
“You don’t even have a college education. Stop acting like you know anything about politics,” a popular reply read.
Another fan said that the voting age should be raised “to 30,” with Kaia further slammed by a follower writing: “I hope u know what u preaching for coz u sure don’t look to know a lot about life struggle politics so on and so forth, I admire u for a model but politics huh is different ball game.”
Kaia, fast-rising as gen-Z’s supermodel “it” girl and now fronting Marc Jacobs’ Daisy perfume, was, however, backed. The model, raised in wealth as dad Rande Gerber co-founded George Clooney’s tequila brand, plus with mom Cindy’s earnings, is bringing in her own dough, something that one fan pointed out.
“Um hello Kaia does pay taxes too, she has her own apartment in NYC and she makes money and has an income too,” they wrote.
Kaia does not appear to have responded to the backlash.
