Jessica Simpson is back in the Daisy Dukes that made her a sex icon all those years ago. The 40-year-old singer, actress, and “Open Book” author’s Thursday Instagram stories were, however, dedicated to yet another branch of her career – Jessica was promoting her Jessica Simpson Style brand, one that turned $1 billion in sales back in 2015. The “Dukes of Hazzard” star remains in the news for regularly flaunting the 100 pounds she lost in 2019, with today showing she’s kept the weight off. Check it out below.
Scroll for the photo. It comes as Jessica this summer admitted that her highest 240-pound weight was actually closer to 300 pounds – speaking to Hollywood Life in August, the star admitted she was in the “high two hundreds” prior to the big weight loss.
Today’s photo was a killer one, showing the mom of three posing on steps and “Ready to Sparkle” while surrounded by stylish, crocodile-skin green suitcases and near a green-painted door. The leggy look also didn’t disappoint.

Jessica, swinging a hip with a leg raised on the steps, wore frayed and belted Daisy Dukes, a cozy maroon-and-black check sweater, plus thigh-high black boots matching a statement hat. The sass was all there, as were the business brains, as the blonde urged her 5.6 million Instagram followers to “swipe up” – clearly, shopping her range was the agenda.
Jessica was driving fans to shop her brand’s boots, themselves in the news of late as Jessica climbed a bookshelf to promote the $169 Irrena Boot.
Jessica’s “These Boots Are Made For Walkin'” hit is now 15 years old, but a dwindling music career hasn’t stopped Jessica from being one of the most talked-about faces this year. Her “Open Book” memoir has documented her childhood sexual abuse, resulting pills and alcohol addiction, relationship with ex John Mayer, and overall recovery.
Everyone’s still talking about the weight, though, with 2020 even seeing Jessica called “way too skinny” as she kissed her 30s goodbye by slipping back into her 14-year-old pair of True Religion jeans.
Jessica, who walked up to 10,000 steps a day to shift the weight and ate eggs, egg-whites, and cauliflower on her weight-loss journey, has opened up on how food looks right now. The yoga queen keeps it balanced, even admitting that she’ll treat herself.
“I personally don’t stay away from foods if I want something, I’ll have some of it, but I’m good at putting it down”, she said, adding: “I mean, listen, I have kids, so if I want, I eat like a kid. I like corn dogs and mac and cheese – you don’t limit yourself.”
