William Shatner In LA Car Accident: Both Cars 'Pretty Damaged'

Maybe William Shatner spent a little too much time in space!

The 90-year-old actor was involved in a car accident on Tuesday, December 21. The car accident took place on Ventura Boulevard in Studio City, California.

It is unclear how the accident happened. The "Star Trek" alum was reportedly alone while driving his black Mercedes-Benz, which got into an accident with a woman who was driving a silver Acura sedan.

Although it is unclear who caused the accident, both of the cars were reported to be "pretty damaged" in the wreck.

Although both cars were damaged, the Los Angeles Police Department reported that they did not file an accident report because Shatner and the unidentified woman were reportedly uninjured in the accident. However, Shatner and the woman allegedly did exchange information at the scene.

As The Blast previously reported, William Shatner made space when he joined the crew of Blue Origin's New Shepard space flight in October. The trip made 90-year-old Shatner the oldest astronaut to rocket into space.

Blue Origin’s Twitter account posted a statement at the time, saying, “Two incredible and inspirational people will join the #NS18 crew. Actor @WilliamShatner and Blue Origin’s Vice President of Mission & Flight Operations Audrey Powers @AudreyKPowers.”

Shatner immediately retweeted the news, writing, “So now I can say something. Yes, it’s true; I’m going to be a ‘rocket man!’”

They were also joined by Planet Labs co-founder Chris Boshuizen and Medidata co-founder Glen de Vries.

“I’ve heard about space for a long time now,” Shatner said in a statement. “I’m taking the opportunity to see it for myself. What a miracle.”

Although the "Star Trek" actor was praised for reaching the final frontier, Michael Strahan was criticized when he went into space on a Blue Origin flight earlier this month.

As The Blast reported, the 50-year-old former New York Giant took a trip with Alan Shepard's daughter and four other passengers to the edge of space. After the rocket touched down outside of Van Horn, Texas, Strahan reportedly told Blue Origin founder Jeff Bezos, "I want to go back."

"Yo! Flights over! We’re done!" Strahan said in a Twitter video posted after the flight. "I’m back at the training center here, and I have to say it was SURR-REAL, however you want to spell that. But it was unbelievable. It’s hard to even describe it. It’s going to take a little bit to process it but it couldn’t have gone better."

Unfortunately, his fans did not seem to share his excitement, with one fan writing, "Good job polluting."

“Thank you for your significant contribution to global warming through your vain space tourism,” another user commented.

“You’ve wasted millions to feel a few minutes of 0 gravity,” another wrote beside a face-palm emoji.

“Did you know that 75 tonnes of carbon is emitted for each passenger on your joy ride & exacerbating #climatechange?” another asked. “All so the rich & famous can go to space for 10 minutes. #ClimateEmergency.”
