Dodgers’ Justin Turner Suing Over $600K In Damages To His “Sandlot” Inspired LA Home

According to records, The MLB star purchased his home in February of 2017 for just over $2 million, under what he calls the Porter Hamilton 10 Living Trust, which of course is a clever homage to the classic film “The Sandlot."

If you haven't seen it, and you should, one of the main characters is a portly catcher named Hamilton “Ham” Porter.

According to the lawsuit, in August of 2017, Turner first learned that his home had mold problems in the kitchen. He also discovered 10 multiple latent defects, including that the crawl space of the "had not been constructed in accordance with the plans and specifications approved by the City of Los Angeles."

Justin Turner could have simply inserted the famous line from Ham Porter into his lawsuit: “You’re killin' me Smalls.”

In the lawsuit, Justin Turner claims the owner of the home in which he purchased KNEW that prior to February 10, 2017, close there was standing water, moisture, and drainage problems in the underground crawl space and that the foundation and underground crawl space had not been built in accordance with the plans and specifications approved by the City of Los Angeles.

The third baseman claims in 2019, he provided written notice to the defendant and demanded that they repair the damages. However, he says they have failed and refused to repair any of the problems identified at the home.

In the end, Justin Turner believes the damages are believed to be in excess of $600,000, in that he has incurred costs related to and "expert investigation."

According to court records, Justin filed the lawsuit in L.A County Courts and both sides will argue it in front of a judge.
