Kelly Ripa was straight-up mad as backstage cameras showed “Live!” co-host Ryan Seacrest ignoring her today. The 50-year-old talk show queen has been fronting media outlets after 45-year-old Ryan left her in the lurch for two days straight – after taking day off, the “American Idol” host stayed home for a COVID test in what proved to be a massive health scare. Now back with Kelly on-set, Ryan and his on-screen other half are back to being filmed in the backstage corridors. Check out what went down below.
Scroll for the video. It showed the former “All My Children” actress and her co-host making their way onto the morning set, with Kelly discussing her weekend. The blonde let fans know she’d made a Sunday meat dinner for her family, although Kelly admitted she doesn’t like meat.
“There was meat, it had meat it it. I don’t eat meat as you know,” Kelly said while walking in an attractive red blouse and snazzy black pencil skirt with a pair of sky-high stilettos.
Kelly, talking about “canned” stuff, did get a response from Ryan, but it didn’t last. “Why did you torture yourself?” he asked Kelly about the meat.
“Because the kids came home for Sunday dinner,” Kelly began, but she couldn’t finish – Ryan walked right off, leaving Kelly saying: “He doesn’t listen. He’s like my other husband.”
The video comes as Kelly endures mass scrutiny over Ryan ditching her on live. Ryan had been filmed without a mask during a weekend “American Idol” video, with “Live!” then confirming he was off to take a COVID test. More after the video.
Ryan remained silent on the COVID test on his social media, but the “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” producer did address undergoing the virus test last week as he finally returned to set.
Following reports he’d been suffering from a “minimal cough” ahead of the testing, Ryan told Kelly:
“Thank you for covering,” adding: “Following strict protocol, got the negative test results for COVID. Makes you feel very good.”
Kelly, meanwhile, reassured her co-host, saying: “I didn’t have any doubts.” This came after “Live” issued the statement on Ryan’s absence.
“Live!” had kept its Instagram followers up-to-date, writing: “Ryan is out today. Out of an abundance of caution, we are waiting—he had a COVID test and we’re just waiting for the results.”
The global pandemic has already seen the popular twosome make major headlines. In September, both returned to the set after 180 days of quarantine-set video streaming. They marked their return by posing in full hazmat suits and World War II-style gas masks. Both have, however, since been slammed for not wearing masks backstage.
