Ryan Seacrest was told to take several seats by his co-host Kelly Ripa after returning to their morning show following his mysterious two-day absence. After returning to “LIVE With Kelly and Ryan” on Wednesday, October 21, he explained that he had been waiting on results from a COVID-19 test which is why he missed out on work.
When the results came back negative, Ryan Seacrest rushed back to Kelly Ripa’s side but no one could prepare him for the oozy gooey segment that would come next.
On Friday, just two days after returning to “LIVE,” Ryan Seacrest and Kelly Ripa put on their gloves and suited up to pop pimples with the expert herself, Dr. Sandra Lee (aka Dr. Pimple Popper). The dermatologist is known for extracting the hardest pimples, blackheads, and more out there, and she appeared on the morning talk show to guide Kelly and Ryan through their own pimple popping.
While Kelly Ripa jumped at the chance, Ryan Seacrest seemed to be a little apprehensive.
That’s when Kelly Ripa dropped a load, explaining that she is a closeted pimple popper and is obsessed with getting deep into the skin for extraction. Ryan Seacrest then attempted to join in on the conversation by awkwardly pulling down his shirt to reveal his bare chest and explain that he gets reoccurring blackheads.
That’s when Dr. Pimple Popper passed out vanilla frosted cupcakes and told the “LIVE With Kelly and Ryan” duo to get to work!

Pushing down on the delicious dessert, Kelly Ripa immediately got gratification from her perfect pimple pop. Ryan Seacrest on the other hand proved not to be a pro like his expert co-host. While Kelly Ripa’s pop was the ideal extraction, the “American Idol” host’s move was the complete opposite.
Ryan Seacrest made everyone at home cringe when the cameraman did a close up of his pop, which exploded and went all over the place. He then licked the vanilla flavored cupcake clean.
Despite the messy segment with Dr. Pimple Popper, Ryan Seacrest seemed to be in good spirits amid his health scare. As The Blast reported, Kelly Ripa was left to host solo on Monday and Tuesday and the network kept quiet about the reasoning. When Ryan Seacrest returned to “LIVE” days later, he addressed his absence.
“Thank you for covering, following the strict protocol,” he told Kelly Ripa. “Got the negative test results for COVID. Makes you feel very good.”
