Drummond made candied nuts during her preparation by toasting hazelnuts and pistachios for about five minutes and heating a nonstick skillet over an average-burning heat. Consequently, she added vanilla, brown sugar, salt, and water.

She stirred and steamed the mixture until the sugar dissolved well. After it cooked for a considerable amount of time, she poured the nuts into a baking sheet and allowed it to cool for about fifteen minutes. The Pioneer Woman made the homemade dressing look easier by combining apple cider vinegar, olive oil, salt, mustard, and maple syrup in a jar and shaking it thoroughly.

For the salad, she spread a mixture of kale, spinach, arugula, and radicchio on a round platter and left a wreath-shaped space in the middle. She then topped it with dried cranberries, candied nuts, orange segments, and other toppings.

She Made a Holiday-Perfect Appetizer

Drummond made a brie appetizer apart from the wreath-shaped big Christmas side dish that makes the gathering even more spectacular.

Appetizers are very important in almost all gatherings, especially in ones where the main course takes a lot of time before getting ready.

She also demonstrated how best to make this appetizer in one of "The Pioneer Woman episodes." She aired the episode as part of the line-ups of the favorite dishes for potluck meals.

In that episode, she explained that the brie appetizer is the best thing to take along with you when your friends invite you over to their houses. From the name, it's what anyone can serve everyone around before the main meal.

While preparing it, she was confident that it was a nice idea and people would love it. Drummond used a shorter method as an expert that she is; she first placed a bowl at the center of a pan lined with parchment paper. She arranged some crescent rolls to form a star shape around the bowl at the center of the pan. She topped the rolls with cranberry jelly and added small pieces of brie to the jelly.
