Olympic gymnast Nastia Liukin‘s perfect split came casually-delivered as ever today, even if it did see the 30-year-old in throwback mode. The former athlete and 2008 all-around Olympic champion sent a major shoutout to photographer Tyler Shields on Sunday as she posted a mind-blowing photo showing her extreme flexibility, with the snap proving eye-catching as Nastia wore a minuscule metallic bodysuit, plus snazzy latex boots. Nastia, followed by 1 million, might have retired aged only 22 back in 2012, but she’s nowhere near done reminding fans why she snagged herself five Olympic medals. Check it out below.
Scroll for the photo posted to Nastia’s Instagram stories on Sunday. It showed the Moscow-born star hiking her right leg right up to rest on a wall box, with the blonde easily getting her heel up by her ear. Nastia, posing with one hand on her waist and the other clasping her boot-clad leg, was flaunting a wild amount of muscle via skintight fabrics showing off her abs – Nastia may have called herself “thin” as she clapped back to an anorexia remark recently, but this girl isn’t lacking on the muscle.

“I did start at 2 1/2 , 3 years old, but I feel like I was born with a little gymnastics in my blood and ever since I can remember, I’ve had such a passion for it.”
Nastia’s latest headline-making comes as a giant clap-back. The star did not appreciate a fan DM’ing her and suggesting she is promoting “borderline” anorexia body image, with Nastia’s return fire coming as a selfie with a giant piece of her mind.
“If taking pictures of my OWN body—a body that won me many olympics medals, a body that I push each day to get stronger, a body that God gave me—is inherently promoting anorexia, then honestly, we’ve gotten to a place in the world where just BEING is offensive. This is ME,” Nastia fired back. More below.
Nastia, who has revealed protein-packed omelette breakfasts and allowing herself a cookie if she wants one, continued with an admission that, yes, she’s always been on the skinny side. But she wasn’t apologizing for it.
“While I’ve always been thin, I’ve not always been strong. I’m proud to say that I am truly stronger now than I’ve ever been,” she wrote, adding: ” I’m sorry if my body is triggering to you. I don’t believe that I should have to cover it up for fear of being offensive.”
