Salma Hayek is quite literally passing on the torch of her legendary snake bikini dance from 1996 movie “From Dusk Till Dawn.” The 54-year-old actress got especially crafty on her Instagram this weekend, taking the iconic snake table dance scene from the movie and slapping someone else’s face on the fire body.
Salma, followed by 16.3 million, was clearly eyeing up the Halloween celebrations due at the end of the month. Her idea for a costume seemed sorted – for Elton John’s filmmaker husband, David Furnish. Check it out below.
Scroll for the video, also not proving the first time that Hayek has played this game – the “Like A Boss” actress recently shouted out singer Ariana Grande’s high ponytail with the joking suggestion that she (not Ari) is the OG.
The video was one Salma’s fans are likely familiar with, showing her ultra-curvy and sensational throwback body from the movie’s table dance scene. The hip-wiggling, white snake, burgundy bikini, and feather headdress were all there. The only thing lacking was Salma’s face, with David’s super-imposed.
Keep scrolling for the video. Salma then took to her caption, writing:
“@davidfurnish you are so ready for Halloween!!! You wore it best! ??
David estas súper listo para halloween!!!Te queda mejor que a mi! ??
330,000+ views in an hour is pretty standard for Salma Hayek. Unless, of course, it’s a drenched and slow-motion bikini video, with 2020 seeing Hayek make headlines for clocking herself a quarter of a million views in 20 minutes. Fans have been – of course – absolutely loving it.
The comments have been pouring in.
“Im dying ???,” one fan wrote.
“Hahahaha omg a memory ruined and a memory created,” another added, with a third swearing they’d seen “Fight Club” actor Brad Pitt.
Hayek, who co-starred with George Clooney, Danny Trejo, Juliette Lewis, and others in “From Dusk Till Dawn,” has also revisited the movie rendering her so iconic. The Quentin Tarantino-written, Robert Rodriguez-directed flick, considered to be one of the sexiest deliveries of all time from Hayek, brought the Mexican facing her biggest fear. Snakes.
Speaking many years later, the “Frida” actress recalled the experience with Tarantino. Or rather, the instruction.
“Quentin told me, ‘Oh, by the way, you’re dancing with a snake.’ I said, ‘I can’t do that, I can’t do that. It’s my greatest fear,‘” Salma said.
The actress then recalled being “[prodded]” with the suggestion that singer Madonna would be totally fine with the snakes and herself was interested.
“So it was good because I had to overcome my greatest fear. I had to go on trance to do the dance… And there was no choreography. It was improvised. Because you can’t choreograph a snake, we don’t know what she’s going to do!” Hayek added.
