Britney Spears Spotted For First Time Since Conservatorship Battle Victory

By Ryan Naumann

Britney Spears was seen for the first time since scoring a huge victory against her father in the battle over control of her finances.

The 38-year-old singer posted a video on her Instagram hours after the court news broke. In the video, which is shot at Britney's Los Angeles mansion, shows her talking directly to the camera. She captioned the post with a bunch of red roses.

Britney says, "So after my last post, a lot of friends wrote asking more about my summer."

She answered, "I think the highlights of my Summer were two friends threw me in the pool. And I had two small dinner parties. Anyhow, it was such a great time and from the way it looks of it, I think summer is still going."

Britney posted another photo of her hanging on the shoulders of her boyfriend Sam Asghari. The photo was taken while they were on a recent tropical vacation together. The two hopped aboard a private jet as the court battle over her life continues to heat up.

As The Blast previously reported, Britney got some good news in her court battle with her father Jamie Spears. According to court documents obtained by The Blast, a Los Angeles Superior Court judge granted a motion allowing Britney to hire her own litigation counsel. The singer had been asking the judge to allow her to hire a law firm named Loeb & Loeb.

Previously, Britney's representative told the court she wanted Jamie to have less control of her finances and conservatorship.

Jamie Spears objected to Britney's request claiming she may be mentally unfit to make decisions in the case. Despite his opposition, the court sided with Britney and grated the request to hire her own counsel.

The order stated, "The Court finds that sufficient evidence has been provided to grant the matter on calendar this date based upon reading the moving papers and consideration of all presented evidence. The Court overrules the objections."

The petition was filed by Britney's court-representative Samuel D. Ingram.

The move is a victory for the #FreeBritney supporters who believe the 12-year-conservatorship should be ended.

“I'm ecstatic to know that Judge Penny approved the request to hire litigators. For over twelve years, Britney has been represented by a single court-appointed attorney who does not have the wherewithal to challenge Jamie's powerhouse attorneys. Now that Britney and her court-appointed attorney will have help from litigators, I'm confident that Britney will finally be fairly represented in court. We're one step closer to getting Britney the freedom she deserves," said one #FreeBritney supporter named Leanne Simmons.
