Kristen Bell has proven herself to be a strong and supportive wife throughout her husband Dax Shepard's repeated issues with substance abuse, always speaking positively about his recovery processes and maintaining hope for a positive future.

Now, Bell has appeared on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" where she candidly discussed her husband's relapse after 16 years of sobriety, offering insight into how he has been dealing with the issue and saying that, "He is actually doing really great."

Recovery Time

"He is actually doing really great. I mean look, everybody’s up against their own demons. Sometimes it’s anxiety and depression, sometimes it’s substance abuse," Bell led off her discussion about Shepard's issues with DeGeneres by saying.

Despite the issues, Bell commended Shepard's ability to recognize when his problem was seemingly spiraling and make the executive decision to seek out help. Once this was done, he began working with Bell to develop a plan they could navigate to help guide him down the road to sobriety once again.

Providing His Medication

"And the thing I love most about Dax is a) he was able to tell me and tell us and say we need a different plan," she continued to say about Shepard and how their re-evaluation led to her taking control of administering his medication, but admitted that the plan developed some cracks in it soon afterwards.

"He was like, 'So we need a stronger plan. I was faltering, and I have to do some sort of emotional work to figure out why I wanted to use again,'" she told DeGeneres of what transpired at the time.

'Addicted' To Positive Change

Bell said that one of Shepard's best traits is that he is constantly looking to better himself, even in the face of adversity, something that has come largely into play as he battles substance abuse once again.

"One of the main reasons I love him is he’s also addicted to growth," she went on to say. "He’s addicted to evolving. He was like, 'I don’t want to risk this family, and I did, so let’s put new things in place to make sure it doesn’t happen again.'"

He's "Worth It"

Despite any issues that may arise between them, Bell says that she will continue to fight for Shepard's well-being and the stability of their relationship. Since revealing his relapse last month, Shepard has seemingly been exacting all the right movements to get himself help and avoid the issue ever happening again.

"I love that he’s addicted to growth, and I will continue to standby him because he’s very, very worth it," she concluded her words on her husband by firmly stating.
