With only one day until the "Real Housewives of Orange County" Season 15 premiere, fans are already expecting a season of the famed reality program unlike any other one in the past, largely due to how much COVID-19 and subsequent quarantine measures upended the season's filming earlier in the year.

With only a little time to spare, show star Emily Simpson sat down with E! News to discuss her thoughts regarding the forthcoming episodes, as well as offer some shade about former cast mates Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge.

Showing Optimism

"We had a lot of challenges, but I tell you we did the best we could and I think it's gonna be a good season, even considering what we had to deal with," she led off her conversation with the publication about the forthcoming new episodes of the show.

Beyond that, the star elaborated on how methodology for the show's production changed drastically to comply with COVID-19 safety guidelines, something that still hasn't fully been worked out even months into it.

A 'Double-Edged Sword'

"I think it's really interesting because it affects everyone differently and you get to see that play out through the whole season. I mean, it's really a double-edged sword for 'Real Housewives of Orange County' because we were filming during the middle of it," the star explained of how difficult filming was with all the safety measures in place.

"And when I say double-edged sword I mean we have problems and challenges with filming period that we had to overcome and work out and figure out, and Bravo did a great job with doing that," she continued to mention.

Raw Emotions

Simpson said that consequently, the new circumstances offered an unprecedented and truly real look at how they all handled the pandemic and quarantine as it transpired, "On the other hand, you get to see a real raw, inside look at how we as individuals and as a group dealt with it and got through it. And I think that's really interesting for the viewers."

Beyond her feelings about the show's drastic production alterations, Simpson also passed some candid judgement about the departures of Vicki Gunvalson and Tamra Judge, saying that the show is seemingly better off without them.

Better Without Vicki & Tamra

"For me, I think it's better. And I don't mean that as disrespect towards them," Simpson commented about the departures of both Judge and Gunvalson.

"I think that they were on the show for a long period of time and I just think the show has to evolve. And that means that you have to have new people and you have to keep it moving forward and I feel like the relationships are more authentic and more real because I feel like when someone has been on the show as long as those two have, I think a lot of things get manipulated and contrived. And, you know, when you have a newer cast, we're definitely not good at that—I'm not anyway. So I'm always playing defense like, 'What's coming at me now?' So, I just think it's more authentic," she concluded.
