It's official, the Los Angeles Lakers are the 2020 NBA Championship titleholders.

Coming off of an unprecedented season, not in play style but in structure (thanks to COVID-19 guidelines) this was truly a season of basketball unlike any other in recorded history, largely due to the circumstances of the time.

With countless athletes and celebrities of various backgrounds showing their support for the California-based team after their victory in Orlando, Vanessa Bryant has taken some time to congratulate her late husband's former team as well as pay tribute to Kobe and Gianna.

In a post to her Instagram story, Bryant shared a photo of Kobe with Lakers general manager Rob Pelinka.

"Congratulations Uncle P! Congratulations @lakers," she wrote accompanying the photo. "Kobe was right, RP! 'Stay the course- blockout the noise.'"

Bryant was referencing one of her late husband's most famously repeated mantras as well as one of his many well-known courses of action while on the hardwood.

Bryant also added "Wish Kobe and Gigi were here to see this" to the already-touching story post.

Aside from the post on her story, Bryant also shared a post to her page itself in honor of National Father-Daughter Day. Accompanying a photo of Kobe and Gianna at the 2009 NBA Championships, Bryant wrote "#GirlDad #DaddysGirl #Mamba #Mambacita #2 #8 #24 Congratulations @Lakers."

With the Lakers victory a hot topic of discussion currently, many have referenced Bryant, being arguably the team's biggest star for the longest span of time, and how proud he would be to see his team take the championship despite the season's adverse circumstances.

Peers Share Their Thoughts

In a post-game interview, Anthony Davis dedicated his team's victory to Bryant, telling reporters that "Ever since the tragedy, all we wanted to do is do it for him, and we didn't let him down."

Referencing Vanessa herself, Davis continued his heartfelt comments about the Bryant family and the Lakers organization as a whole, saying that although the team was unable to do it in his jerseys the victory is still something they all wanted to ensure was achieved in memory of their fallen brother.

"It would have been great to do it last game in his jerseys, but it made us come down even more aggressive, even more powerful on both ends of the floor, to make sure we close it down tonight. I know he's looking down on us proud of us. I know Vanessa is proud of us, the organization's proud of us. It means a lot to us," he went on to explain of his emotions post-win.

LeBron James also reflected on the win and Bryant, saying the success brought the team "even closer together."

"And obviously we know it brought the whole basketball world close as well," he shared at the time. "But when you're internal and it hits home, it just means that much more. We locked in from that very moment, saying, 'This is bigger than us, this is bigger than us.'"
