Chrissy Teigen and her pop-star husband John Legend recently posted an update that has left fans of the couple simply devastated.
Despite the 34-year-old’s high hopes and excitement over being pregnant with baby number three, the former Sports Illustrated model posted an update last week which expressed her deep heartbreak over suffering a miscarriage.
While the update itself was met with quite a bit of controversy and debate over whether it was really appropriate posting such personal sentiments on social media, Teigen has received a massive amount of support from fans and other celebrities in light of her loss.
Criticized For Transparency
Chrissy posted many videos and photos expressing her delight over the realization that she was pregnant again. For those who have followed her long enough, you will already know how difficult it has been for her to conceive in the past, making this latest miscarriage especially hard on her and John.
Her previous comments about her past complications with child birth have been just one of many updates where Teigen was extremely transparent about her personal life with her fan base. She has been so honest about her personal struggles in fact, that she was criticized by talk shows like “Loose Women!“
‘Deep Pain You Only Hear About’
Chrissy hasn’t directly responded to the criticisms over her public statements regarding her miscarriage, but she did post one of the most heart-wrenching descriptions about how difficult it was for her family to experience a loss like this.
“We are shocked and in the kind of deep pain you only hear about, the kind of pain we’ve never felt before. We were never able to stop the bleeding and give our baby the fluids he needed, despite bags and bags of blood transfusions. It just wasn’t enough.” (Teigen)
‘Jack’
She goes on to describe how they tried now to get attached to a baby that wasn’t brought into the world yet, but couldn’t help but lovingly anticipate their new baby.
“We never decide on our babies’ names until the last possible moment after they’re born, just before we leave the hospital. But we, for some reason, had started to call this little guy in my belly Jack. So he will always be Jack to us. Jack worked so hard to be a part of our little family, and he will be, forever.”
Love From Peers
A rather extravagant number of celebrities left a comment on her post about the miscarriage. Here are just a few of the big names to share their condolences.
“We’re always here for you and love you guys so much.” (Kim Kardashian)
“I’m so so sorry. Thinking of you and John, praying for you guys and sending you so much love during this time. ❤️” (Hailey Bieber)
“We love you guys so much and we will be here for whatever yall need. Always.” (Gabrielle Union)
