Bravo fans are still not over the latest departure from the “Real Housewives of New York City”.

Fan favorite Dorinda Medley was let go from the show after several successful seasons. The New York socialite was blindsided by the firing along with many fans of the show and now she is dishing on what really went down.

During an appearance on former cast member Bethenny Frankel’s new podcast “Just B”, Medley admitted that she “did not have a good season”. Fans now know she was under tremendous pressure.

It Was A Hard Year

The reality star shared that she was “very, very scared” going into filming this season. She went on to explain her fear came from her recent breakup with boyfriend John Mahdessian, she then broke a few ribs after an accident, and to top it off, her beloved country home Blue Stone Manor flooded.

Not only was she feeling “overwhelmed”, but she also didn’t know how to process everything going on around her. "I didn't get my voice out correctly," she said to Frankel.

However, the reality star didn’t think it would lead to her being fired from the popular Bravo show. “Everybody always gets their resurrection season,” said Medley and she just assumed she would get hers.

Unfortunately, the reality of the tricky business that is reality TV reared its ugly head. “We have good seasons. We have bad seasons,” admits Medley. “We come back and we change it up, I was looking forward to coming back this year. I was looking forward to having that moment.”

No One Likes Rejection

The 55-year-old admits that she didn’t enjoy that feeling of rejection that came over her when she was given the news admitting that not filming these past few months has brought her clarity and she feels renewed.

Unfortunately, fans will not be seeing the new and improved Dorinda. Although Executive producer Andy Cohen has only called the former cast members exit a “pause,” not seeing her on the next season will feel different for fans. Frankel gave her friend a few encouraging words to go out on.

More To Come

“When you get away from it, you have all these other opportunities. And you can develop your friendships in a different way.” She advised the unemployed Dorinda to “let the dust settle”. Frankel has left and returned to the “Real Housewives of New York” on two occasions, she knows a thing or two about feuding with producers. Thankfully, Cohen’s comment about fan favorite Medley leaves a glimmer of hope that fans will celebrate Halloween at Blue Stone Manner once more in the future.
