Sometimes, being royalty does not entirely offer immunity to specific life issues. This may be the case of British royals, Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.
It is barely a year since Prince Harry and Meghan forfeited their positions as working royals in the British Royal family, and all seems well as the pair decided to relocate to California for a new life. They also purchased their first home together, signed a massive deal with Netflix recently, and still carried on with their charity work. Undoubtedly, the couple is living their best lives.
But have they forgotten all about their life back home?
What Have They Done Since Moving To California
The pair made a shocking appearance on “America’s Got Talent.” They used the opportunity to encourage Americans to vote in the upcoming presidential election.
The couple’s contract with Netflix is a massive deal that included feature films, scripted shows, docu-series, children’s programming, and documentaries. This deal, which came as a surprise to everyone, including the royal family back home.
The lovers were also reported to have taken their philanthropic career to a greater height. It only remains a mystery as to why the pair never operated this way before leaving for California.
They Became Debt Free
Reportedly, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were thrilled to be a part of the renovation of Frogmore by paying back the money that was needed for the renovation.
It was also alleged that a spokesperson for the pair made a contribution concerning the payment, disclosing that Prince Harry had fully paid back the cost of renovation for Frogmore Cottage and still remains a U.K residence of the Duke and his family.
An unconfirmed report also revealed that the Queen made no requirement for the couple to pay back, but they saw the need to do so.
Are they trying to cut ties completely?
This Is Why The Couple Will Not Let Go Of Their Frogmore Home
Surprisingly, several tabloids rumored that the pair are still paying rent for Frogmore Cottage. Although, this news was not confirmed immediately, some fans wondered why they were still funding the U.K home, when they live in a new one.
The real reason why they have continued to pay rent on the property, is because they will be spending time there, as they split between the U.S. and the U.K.
Aside from that, the house is also of sentimental value to the couple, as they received it as a wedding gift from Queen Elizabeth II.
What Next On Frogmore Cottage?
A source disclosed to The Independent that The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have contributed to the Sovereign Grant, which entails them to the rental obligations and the refurbishment for Frogmore Cottage.
The source also mentioned that the National Audit Office however, is yet to agree and determine the reporting method for next year’s accounts’ contribution.
So far the former royals have successfully managed both worlds, and they’re known to be great at finding solutions to whatever issues they face.
Well, they did find a solution to their financial dependence!
