Everyone knows the royal family adheres to strict rules, at the behest of Queen Elizabeth II. These rules as they say, shapes their everyday lives and helps them make the best decisions.
While this is an amazing path to follow, some of these rules will most likely make the public cringe when they hear about it or read it on a tabloid.
From their etiquette, to how they dress, act or speak in public, the lives of the royals are practically not theirs.
Read below for more details.
The Order Of Precedence
This is one of the bizarre rules that the Queen follows and expects everyone around her to follow too. During dinner parties or celebration, every member of the family, will be ushered into her Majesty’s presence in the order of precedence.
This means that they will come in according to how they’re taking the throne. The first person in line to take the throne will be at the front and the last person, will be at the end.
This rule seems a little too extra for non-royals, but royals understand what it means and how important it is to the Queen.
The Queen Avoids A Table With 13 People On It
Whenever the Queen hosts a function, there is always an exclusive guest list. This list most likely consists of very influential people that the Queen wants to have important discussions with.
Sometimes, the number of guests varies, according to how large and intimate the gathering is. If it’s for business purposes, it will most likely be few people. However, if it is a family gathering or celebration, a lot of people will b in attendance.
At gatherings like this, the Queen declines having 13 people sit any table. This is a superstition that she has followed for years.
The Palace Swans Are Very Important
The Queen is a dog lover no doubt. Thank God for that! However, her country is usually swarmed by swans, and they’re very important to her.
The palace staff are tasked with keeping records of all the swans in England and also stating how many new ones joined within a period. These records are very important to the Queen, and they must be done.
The royal family’s website states that her Majesty is allowed to own a swan that is swimming in open waters at any time of the day. Also, every swan is given a mark, to differentiate them from new ones.
The Queen Does Not Appreciate Noise
This is one rule that majority follow in their homes, work places or places of worship. However, when it comes to the Queen, she does not want noise from a particular cleaning machine.
The palace hires personal cleaners to clean every day, but according to the Queen, they must on no account, make use of vacuum cleaners for the floors. She insists that the noise is unbearable as she wants the palace to remain as peaceful as it can be at all times.
