On Thursday, the public memorial for the late Young Dolph was held in his hometown of Memphis. The venue was FedExForum, home of the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies.

This memorial was free to the public, as tickets were made available on Ticketmaster. These tickets were definitely in high demand, as they reportedly sold out in 90 minutes.

Dolph's Celebration Of Life Event Was Live-Streamed

This service was held almost exactly a month to the day that Dolph was killed in Memphis. Many fans were ready to see this anticipation funeral, as the previous one was a smaller one that was reserved just for Dolph's loved ones.

At this service, local government officials spoke about the positive impact that Dolph made in Memphis. One emotional moment at FedExForum was seeing Dolph's girlfriend Mia Jaye, and their two children, speak. It was evident that the three were still understandably still grieving.

Celebrities that went on to speak, included Dolph's Paper Route Empire record label artists. Legendary R&B singer Monica was also in attendance. Monica went on to read a letter that was penned by popular Louisiana rapper, C-Murder. C-Murder has been incarcerated since 2002, due to a shooting case. C-Murder was very close with Dolph and was very appreciative of the person he was to he and his children.

Memorial Service Was Held Almost Exactly A Month After Dolph's Murder

This beautiful memorial for Dolph was also coincidentally held almost a month to the day of his murder. At the time, Dolph simply wanted to purchase cookies for his mother.

Two men went on to pull up to the business in a white Mercedes-Benz, and opened fire on the rapper. The men were seen in grey sweatpants, navy and black hoodies, and COVID-19 masks. One man also sported a Bass Pro Shops hat.

These men are still at large, as Memphis Police are still investigating. The weekend after Dolph's death though, the two men's getaway car was reportedly found three miles away from the murder scene. According to TMZ, the location was in the Orange Mound neighborhood of South Memphis. The vehicle went on to be towed away from the home that it was parked next to.

Dolph Received A Street Named After Him

On December 15, the city of Memphis also honored Dolph in another major way. This was that he received his own street named after him. The official name of the intersection is Adolph "Young Dolph" Thornton Jr. Avenue. Local government officials in attendance included Councilwoman Martavius Jones and Councilman JB Smiley Jr.
