Serena Williams has defeated several savage competitors over the years but she just slayed her latest opponent: a freezing cold ice bath. The 38-year-old tennis champ looked her opposition in the eye and conquered it when she dipped herself into the cool pool of ice water, all while remaining fashionably fierce.
Taking to her social media on Wednesday, September 23, Serena Willaims showed why she’s the queen of the court when she slipped her body into the ice bath while wearing a smile and a teeny weenie tennis skirt.
Facing head-on what most athletes cringe over, the 23-time Grand Slam champ showed off her gorgeously toned limbs and pearly whites while posting a series of shots flaunting her progress. Wearing a royal blue tennis skirt with red and white strips, Serena Williams paired her barely-there bottoms with a skintight spandex shirt with long sleeves.
Sporting her gorgeous curly locks in a half-up, half-down hairdo, Serena Williams slowly made her way into the ice water but her smile quickly turned.

In the first shot, Serena Williams is seen in the water which hits at her thighs. The tennis star posed to capture a snap and looked almost too cool for comfort, but that changed as the photos progressed. In her second snap, she’s spotted holding onto the railing for dear life and her close-eyed smile said it all.
The third one is golden. Showing Serena Williams finally getting it together, she looked at the camera and struck a pose like the champ she is.
“❄️? ice bath and smile,” the star captioned her hilarious shots. Within a few hours, Serena Williams ice bath post collected over 143k likes and several comments, including one from Oscar winner Hilary Swank.
“I’ve been in that icebath! ? I wanna be back too! So bummed to miss you all this year! ? ??,” the award-winning actress replied to her post. While Serena Williams didn’t elaborate on her ice bath, fans can only assume it’s to heal her ankle injury.
The tennis champ missed her opportunity to win this year’s US Open after experiencing an ankle injury on the court. During her match with Victoria Azarenka earlier this month, Serena Williams took a medical timeout to tape up her left ankle. While she went on to play, Azarenka finished off with a 1-6, 6-3, 6-3 victory.
She’s been pretty silent on social media since then but it was her daughter that captured the show when she was spotted on the sidelines watching her fierce mama compete.
