President Biden comforted families in Kentucky on Wednesday, December 15.

He visited the towns of Mayfield, Princeton, and Dawson Springs.

He commented on flying over the acres of damaged land from Air Force One.

He called the amount of damage there is “incredible.”

He also stated that he has been “amazed” by the way the community has come together.

He also addressed the “mental and emotional” injuries people are suffering.

He compared it to the post-traumatic stress people face returning from war.

He assured the families watching that they were “in it for the long haul.”

“We’re going to rebuild,” he said. “We’re going to build back better than it was.”
