Kristen Stewart has come a long way since her stint with "Twilight"– the 31-year-old star has also been getting praises for her excellent portrayal of Princess Diana in "Spencer." However, her acting skills aren't the only things making rounds lately. Per an interview with Howard Stern, the "Speak" star opened up about her engagement to her partner, Dylan Meyer, whom she's been dating for two years.

"We're marrying. We're gonna do it," Stewart expressed. "I wanted to be proposed to, so I think I very distinctly carved out what I wanted, and she nailed it. We're marrying. It's happening."

The actress, who identifies as queer, has been romantically involved with several people in Hollywood, including Michael Angarano, Robert Pattinson, Alicia Cargile, and Stella Maxwell.

In an interview with Instyle, she spoke of how she was under duress to admit she was a lesbian. "The first time I ever dated a girl, I was immediately being asked if I was a lesbian. And it's like, 'God, I'm 21 years old,'" she said. "I felt like maybe there were things that have hurt people I've been with. Not because I felt ashamed of being openly gay but because I didn't like giving myself to the public, in a way. It felt like such thievery. This was a period when I was sort of cagey."

According to the proposal, Stewart mentioned that Meyer wasn't particular about anything. "It's not a given that I would be the one. Do you know what I mean? With two girls, you never know who will fulfill what weird f---ing gender role thing. We don't do that or think about it in those terms. She just grabbed that bowl and made it happen. It was f---ing so cute."

Backstory

Although the couple got into a romantic relationship in 2019, they had already met six years before then on a movie set. They later reunited at a shared friend's birthday celebration.

"The day that I met her, all bets were off," Stewart reminisced. "I was like, 'Where have I been, and how have I not known you?' She's been, like, living in LA alongside my life somehow but not ever converging?"

In July 2021, the duo sparked marriage rumors when they were photographed wearing rings on their ring fingers. The following month, they have photographed again, signaling all was well with the relationship.

At the time, a glance at Meyer's Twitter revealed that the relationship was as serious as they come. "There is nothing like falling in love with someone to make you abruptly aware of all the different dumb/embarrassing/unsolicited directions your hair can go," Meyer wrote on her feed.

Stewart also admitted in her interview with Stern that she told Meyer she was in love with her just "two weeks" into their relationship. "The first time I told her I loved her, it was late, and we were in some shitty bar, and her friends were there or whatever, and they walked out," she said. "And I was just like, 'Oh, man, I'm so fucking in love with you.' Done."

Meyer Is A Screenwriter And Actress

Like her partner, Meyer is no stranger in Hollywood. She was born and raised in it. Her father is Nicholas Meyer, an Oscar-nominated screenwriter who's famous for movies like "Star Trek IV: The Voyage," "Time After Time," and "Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country."

Because she's the chip off the old block, Meyer is an excellent screenwriter in outstanding films like "Moxie," "Miss 2059," "Loose Ends," "Rock Bottom," and many others.

She's Also A Native Of Los Angeles

There are many reasons the duo instantly hit it off, but the fact that they were both from Los Angeles certainly created an easy connection.

"We're both from LA, and we love LA," Kristen explained during a November 2019 interview on "The Howard Stern Show." "We both felt like trolls as kids. We're so similar but different. She's a writer. She's brilliant."

According to USA Today, they both agree on the concept of an "untraditional" wedding.

"I don't want anyone walking anyone down any aisles, like, we're just gonna stand, do vows and party after," Stewart concluded.

She's Into Tattoos And Hip Fashion

Tattoos are another interest that Meyer and Stewart share, and both of them have those in abundance. Meyer has a collection of stylish pattern romper tattoos on her arms and fingers that she often flaunts in photos on Instagram.
