Congratulations to “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air!”
The show is marking its 30th anniversary and a lot of things have been happening on different social media platforms.
Firstly, fans are psyched that the cast will again come together in honor of the show and late James Avery, who died of complications from open-heart surgery in 2013. He will definitely be missed.
Secondly, this anniversary will call for a reunion of the cast members and that was exactly what happened.
The icing on the cake, was Will Smith and Janet Hubert burying a years-long hatchet.
Smith took to his Instagram page to share a photo featuring the cast of the show. They all looked amazing and brought back a lot of memories for fans.
For decades, fans are still finding it difficult to shake off the awesome feeling they had when they watched the show for the first time. Till date, it is still considered as one of the best comic series of all time.
With a total of six seasons and 148 episodes. The show wrapped up in 1996.
The highlight of this awesome anniversary is that it helped Smith and the original Aunt Viv finally be at peace with each other.
Janet Hubert was initially supposed to play the role of Aunt Viv till the final episode, but due to some issues with Smith, she was fired.
She initially accused NBC of playing favoritism with the actor, but there was no proof to support her basis. She had constantly thrown shade towards the actor for years, but all that has come to an end now.
Smith shared a photo on his Instagram where he was in a conversation with her and they were all smiles.
Hubert was part of the show for a very short time, before she was replaced with Daphne Maxwell. Fans have been insisting on a reunion event, because this is perhaps what James Avery would have wanted.
Although the the reunion process has not been fully revealed to fans, HBO promises that it would be exciting. It also promises a night filled with music, dancing and a lot of catching up between the former cast.
In essence it all promises to be fun. Will you be watching?
