Kaley Cuoco is not letting anyone bully her for wearing a protective mask while working out during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the former “Big Bang Theory” star did not hesitate to respond to trolls who shamed her on social media after sharing a fitness session. Cuoco took to Instagram this week as she continues production on her highly-anticipated upcoming HBO Max series, “The Flight Attendant,” and had returned to New York following the initial Hollywood shutdown during the COVID-19 pandemic.
With Kaley Cuoco’s trainer residing across the country in California, the star has had to get creative on her workout routines while wrapping up the first season of “The Flight Attendant.” Her trainer’s been nice enough to do a few classes over Zoom, but much of Cuoco’s fitness has been solo. While sharing a fitness session on Instagram, the star revealed she has discovered jumping rope as a fun way to work up a sweat.
“My newest obsession during COVID/quarantine! All you need is 20 mins , a jump rope, and good music!” Cuoco captioned a video of herself jumping rope in her hotel gym while wearing a fitness outfit and protection mask.
Although the post was supposed to be about jumping rope, many fans asked why Cuoco was wearing a mask while in a gym by herself.
“You’re wearing a mask because why?” one person asked in the comments of her video.
“Dont see why you couldnt do that in your own backyard with no mask on. No way would i train in a mask thats extremely dangerous never mind setting a very bad example for young girls and boys everywhere. You wouldnt go jogging with a bag round your mouth with holes in would you?? Same thing,” another comment read.
The mask debate has been a hot-button issue around the U.S. with many believing the protection measure is meaningless, while others are very serious about not only protecting themselves but possibly stopping the spread of COVID-19 to others.
Kaley Cuoco shut down the haters quickly by personally responding to everyone in her own comment feed:
“For everyone and their mask comments. I wear a mask when I’m in an enclosed space around others , which I was. I also wear a mask when I’m outside around others. I’m protecting myself and everyone around me. That’s why i choose choose [sic] to wear a mask. Thanks for playing.”
Amid the criticism from people she doesn’t know, Kaley Cuoco got some praise from her former “Big Bang Theory” co-stars who stopped by to deliver some love into her Instagram comments.
“Okay. I’m actually impressed by this one,” co-star Johnny Galecki wrote.
Unable to wrap around his head around how long Cuoco can jump rope for, Kunal Nayyar wrote, “20 minutes????? That’s why you have abs.”
Another co-star, Caroline Rhea, who appeared alongside Cuoco in 2007’s “To Be Fat Like Me,” commented, “You’re a human dressage pony! You’re so coordinated.”
