Kim Says Marriage Counseling Won't Get Her To Change Her Mind
According to legal documents filed by Kim and obtained by The Blast, they state that "No counseling or reconciliation effort will be of any value at this time." She also added that "irreconcilable differences" have been common among her and Kanye, so divorce is the best option at this point.
Kanye Refuses To Respond To Divorce Paperwork
These documents also state that Kanye hasn't been responding to the divorce paperwork sent to him, from Kim. This has been evident in Kanye claiming in recent interviews that he hasn't received any documentation.
From Kim's point of view, it appears that Kanye simply doesn't want to go through with divorce. Ye also maintained his stance in these interviews that he wants to fix this situation between himself and Kim.
"Irreconcilable differences have existed and continue to exist between [Kanye] and me, which have caused our marriage to irretrievably break down. I have been attempting to settle our dissolution with [Kanye] since I filed for divorce in February 2021. I have requested several times that [Kanye] agree to bifurcate and terminate our marital status. [He] has not responded to my request. [Kanye] and I both deserve the opportunity to build new lives. Therefore, I am asking that my request to bifurcate and terminate our marital status be granted."
Kim Also Filed Documents To Officially Be Single
Kim has definitely been making it known that she has no plans to fix her marriage to Kanye. Last week, documents were also filed, that would officially make her a single woman.
In this paperwork, a judge would separate child custody and property from their marital statuses. Kim would also simply have "Kardashian" as her last name, and drop "West."
Kim And Kanye's Divorce Was Announced At The Top Of 2021
In the early days of January, it was revealed that Kim and Kanye were heading for divorce. The two had been married since 2014. Kim officially moved forward with the paperwork, in mid-February. She has since hired Attorney Laura Wasser to assist her in these proceedings.
Fans of both stars weren't very shocked that this divorce was coming. In 2020, Kanye and Kim's marriage seemed to hit breaking points. In July 2020, Kanye had his presidential campaign run in South Carolina. It was there that he oddly revealed that he and Kim had pondered on getting an abortion back in 2012. At the time, Kim was pregnant with their first child, North.
Kim Has Still Supported Kanye's Endeavors

These events include the "Donda" album listening sessions. These were both held in Atlanta and Chicago, prior to the album's August 29 release date.
Kim also appeared at Kanye's "Free Larry Hoover" concert, at the LA Coliseum. Drake was also a guest performer, as this event occurred a month after Ye and Drake ended their 3-year-old feud.
