Denise Richards caught the attention of her fans and followers on Wednesday night when she appeared alongside her co-stars on the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” reunion with bloodshot eyes and what appeared to be makeup smudges under her eyes.
While a number of people on social media seemed to think Denise may have been under the influence, she has since set the record straight on Instagram.
After the first installment of the three-part reunion special for season 10 aired on Bravo, a viewer of the series questioned Denise about her appearance.
“Why were your eyes so blood[shot] red at the reunion?!” the Instagram user asked on Thursday, September 3, according to a report from Us Weekly.
“I am allergic to powder, I’ve tried so many. I hate it,” Denise replied.
According to Denise, her disheveled appearance was not the result of a substance, but rather her makeup.
“As soon as it’s used on my face, my eyes get bright red immediately. And my nose runs (so lovely) At first drops help, but as the day goes on, nothing does,” she explained.
After explaining what caused her bloodshot eyes, Denise questioned her fans and followers about other options for her face.
“If anyone knows of a [makeup] powder that could help please please let me know,” she wrote, requesting her fans help her out. “On this production in Spain they even had to switch to cream shadows and blotting paper. Any [makeup] artist that has worked with me & still works with me knows this about me & we would love any input on this.”
During the “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” reunion, Denise was put in the hot seat about the things she allegedly said about her cast mates during season 10, and about the alleged affair she supposedly had with Brandi Glanville in April 2019.
As fans will recall, Brandi said that she slept with Denise after Denise reportedly told her that she and her husband, Aaron Phypers, had an open marriage. However, in response to the claim, Denise accused Brandi of telling lies.
While Denise has not yet confirmed whether or not she will be back for the new season, which is expected to begin filming later this year, she did shoot down rumors claiming she quit her role on the series after season 10 several months ago.
To see more of Denise and her cast mates, don’t miss the second installment of the three-part reunion special for “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” season 10, which airs next Wednesday night, September 9, at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
