Dove Cameron clocked herself over 2.1 million likes overnight with her latest Instagram share, taking to the platform with a very freeing removal of her bikini top as she shouted out public nudity being “illegal.”
The 24-year-old actress and singer, fresh from a road trip where she drove around in a bikini top, updated her account on Thursday night with two photos – one came with the “Descendants” actress rocking a lime green bikini top, the other saw her lose it. Check out the snaps below.
Scroll for the Utah desert photos. Dove, followed by 37.3 million on her Instagram, had built up to her post with a series of road trip snaps, plus a bathroom one where she co-ordinated a lime green bikini top, cargo pants, and a waist wraparound to shout out Utah’s people being “wholesome.”
The ante got upped, though. The latest shots showed the former Disney star snapped from behind and with outstretched arms amid desert horizons. And yes, Dove, wearing white sweatpants, had removed her swimwear, with the bikini dangling from one arm. A caption offered more.
Dove, who also offered a swipe-right showing her smiling and with the swimwear more conventionally worn, wrote:
“puBliC NuDiTy iS ilLeGaL !! f-ck the patriarchy celebrate the body !! get ur ti-s out!!!! ?”
Dove did not fall short on the popularity front with these photos. She even snagged herself a celebrity comment from singer Madison Beer, who wrote: “I love you.” Meanwhile, the official MTV Instagram left a more safe: “I love nature.”
Dove did, however, receive tricky feedback to her road trip kick-off photos. As The Blast reported, the blonde had fans worried over her weight.
It’s been under a week since Dove posted while driving and in a bikini top and overalls look. The Emmy Award winner also shared a thirst trap bathroom selfie – hard to tell which snaps sparked the weight concern, but it was all there.
Over 500 users liked a comment reading: “Geez she’s soo skinny ngl it looks great on the on hand but fricking unhealthy on the other.”
Dove, also told to “eat,” found herself defended by fans claiming the remarks were skinny-shaming. She also fired right back.
Dove has responded to the messages – the post had opened with a photo of her road trip snacks, which included a Diet Coke and Hi-Chew Japanese candy.
“Geez she’s soo skinny” got a response as Dove wrote: “I am not unhealthy thank you.” As to the fan writing that Dove looks “so skinny go eat some food,” the reply was:
“Outta here with that energy.”
Elsewhere, Dove continues to make headlines for mourning the loss of former co-star Cameron Boyce, having shown off the tattoo inked in his honor in late May.
