Kelly Osbourne Reveals She Had Gastric Surgery Which Helped Her Drop 85 Pounds

By Clark Sparky

Kelly Osbourne recently revealed that she has lost 85 pounds over the past few months, and now she's opening up about a surgery that helped her reach her goals. The daughter of rock legend Ozzy Osbourne was on Dax Holt and Adam Glyn's podcast “Hollywood Raw” on Thursday and said she underwent gastric sleeve surgery nearly two years ago. Despite that, she's still had to work hard to transform her body and improve her overall health.

“I had surgery; I don’t give a fuck what anyone has to say,” Osbourne said after rumors swirled that she'd had plastic surgery. “I did it, I’m proud of it, they can suck shit. I did the gastric sleeve. All it does is change the shape of your stomach. I got that almost two years ago. I will never ever ever lie about it ever. It is the best thing I have ever done.”

Unlike gastric bypass surgery, with the operation Osbourne had you still need to eat right and workout to maintain the weight loss.

“The kind of surgery I had… if you don’t work out and you don’t eat right, you gain weight. All it does is move you in the right direction,” she said. “So, anyone who’s thinking of doing something like this, really think about that.”

She went on to explain that it is not a "quick fix" and the surgery removes a hormone from the body which helps you stop craving things if you have addiction issues. Osbourne said she was big on emotional eating before, and the operation helped her stop that.

"I had to do a year of stand-alone therapy to prepare myself for the surgery before I even had it,” she said. "All it is, is a push in the right direction. It doesn’t solve all your problems. It’s not a quick fix.”

There is one negative side effect from Osbourne's transformation. She says it's made her very resentful of Hollywood because now people pay attention to her whereas before she felt "invisible."

“My weight loss made me resentful at Hollywood. So fucking resentful,” she said. “Because when I was fat, I was invisible. They didn’t want to work with me, they didn’t want to do anything with me.”

In addition to the surgery, eating healthier, and working out consistently, Osbourne also cut out the empty calories from drinking alcohol. She called that decision "the best thing I’ve ever done.”
