Amber Heard has been talking “emergency” situations while in a bikini. The 34-year-old actress is currently vacationing in Turkey, where social media updates have proven both controversial and a headline-maker – Amber going braless while visiting Turkish mosques this month saw Twitter users dub her disrespectful, although the “Aquaman” actress clapped back.
Amber’s Friday Instagram update came at a safe distance from any mosques. In fact, the ex to “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor Johnny Depp was right on the water. Her caption kept it cryptic, though. Check it out below.

It comes as Amber’s divorce from 57-year-old Depp continues to make headlines, with July seeing Amber at London’s High Court as she participated in Depp’s $1 million libel lawsuit against newspaper The Sun. Amber, herself facing a $50 million defamation lawsuit from Depp after calling herself a “victim” of domestic violence in a 2018 op-ed, kept her legal dramas out of this update.
There was plenty going on, though. Amber had been photographed on a white cloth towel at the edge of a boat, with Turkey’s scenic blue waters and distant hill horizons behind her.
Amber was seen clutching books and a laptop while semi-smiling from behind shades. Wearing a low-cut black bikini top and a loose white shirt, she wrote:
“SPF1000 + beautiful beach + ADD – emergency that must be dealt with IMMEDIATELY = beach-bag library.”
The sunscreen and beach mention were likely clear to Amber’s 3.9 million Instagram followers. The “ADD” and “emergency,” perhaps, less-so.
Amber snagged herself over 312,000 likes in 21 hours for her post, but comments on the star’s Instagram are limited. Earlier this year, Amber was trashed by her own followers as 2015-leaked audio calls revealed her admitting to “hitting” ex Johnny with “pots and pans.”
It’s been just under a week since Amber faced online backlash for “showing nipples” as she visited a Turkish mosque while in a hijab. The actress had dressed conservatively at first glance, wearing a loose, cream blouse and linen jacket, plus a fuschia headscarf offering minimal head coverage. Twitter was quick to spot a braless scenario, though, slamming Heard. She fired back, writing:
“Nope. Apparently whoever paid 4 this to b ‘written’ wasnt paid enough,” Amber tweeted. “Ill make it easy(ier): Mosques are real places. So are museums & churches. So are head scarfs (where they are sometimes required n order 2 visit). Mystery solved. (sic)”
Amber proved very high-profile in July as she was photographed arriving at London’s High Court and with a face covering. Depp, also present, was photographed in the British capital’s streets. The lawsuit, against The Sun’s Dan Wootton who had called Depp a “wife beater,” saw Heard make an appearance. She also spoke outside the court, fighting back tears and saying:
“I traveled to the UK to testify in these proceedings as a witness to assist the Court. After obtaining a restraining order in 2016 and finalizing our divorce, I wanted to move on with my life. I did not file this lawsuit and, despite its significance, I would have preferred not to be in court.”
