After stepping down as senior members of the Royal family, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have started a new chapter in their lives. After Megxit occurred earlier this year, the couple visited Canada for a little while. They then decided to move to Los Angeles, California and were lucky enough to be given access to Tyler Perry’s mansion to live in for a while until they were able to find their own place. They have since then moved into their own mansion in Santa Barbara, California, as of July.
A biography was written about the couple by Royal experts, Omid Scobie and Caroline Durand. The book was released in early August and is titled, Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family. Although many people believe that the former Royal couple played a role in the making of this book, Royal experts say they did not. However, many people close to the couple say that there are some things in the book that no one would know except for Harry and Meghan.
According to the Royal experts who wrote the biography about the ex-Royal couple, although they did speak to Harry and Meghan themselves a little, they got most of their information about them from close friends, palace staff and Royal aides, both past and present, and the organizations and charities they were working with and had built long-lasting relationships with. They said that they did speak with the couple also during the few short Royal interviews they did.
They said, “We have spoken with close friends of Harry and Meghan, royal aides and palace staff (past and present), the charities and organizations they have built long-lasting relationships with and, when appropriate, the couple themselves.”
The Royal experts and authors of the biography have predicted where the couple will be in five years. According to Omid Scobie, the couple’s new non-profit organization, Archewell, although not launched yet, will be “a huge place within the charitable landscape in the U.S.”
He also said,
“I think we’re only really seeing the beginnings of Archewell ― they’re clearly taking their time on [launching] that I think that shows a maturity or a growth in the couple that we are sort of maybe seeing for the first time, they’re really taking their time. I know that in the past, there’s sometimes felt that need to sort of rush into something.”
Scobie added, “I think that the fact that they’re taking their time on this really shows that this will be the crux of their legacy for the foreseeable future.”
Durand, co-author of the Royal biography said, “The old romantic in me that loves their fairytale story would love to see them expand their family. That’s something that they want.” She also said that, “everyone’s choice is up to them.”
She continued, “If they model their future ― and I think this is one of their goals ― in the same fashion that Melinda and Bill Gates or Michelle and Barack Obama have done, it’s going to be a very inspiring future for them and incredibly exciting for all of us.”
Durand also said, “They’re incredibly inspirational examples of people who have used their platform to create change. And I think that that’s great for all sorts of young people around the world who are struggling. In five years, I imagine that they’re going to help all sorts of people just like Harry and William and Kate did with their mental health campaign.”
Scobie also mentioned that he would like to see the couple get another dog. Only because he wants to see how long it will take people to guess its name. They have one now that they adopted in August 2018. The authors of the biography were the first ones to reveal the name of the dog, which is a black labrador named, Pula.
