Billie Eilish has been one of the biggest artists in the world over the past year. It started with the release of her debut studio album, ‘When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go,’ last spring. It was led by the breakout hit single, “Bad Guy.” The album has since been certified 3x platinum by the RIAA in the US.
Eilish was also one of the performers at last night’s Democratic National Convention. She performed her new “My Future” single which also made former President Barack Obama’s summer 2020 playlist.
At the DNC, Eilish also emphasized how important it is to prevent Donald Trump from winning a second term as president as he’s been destroying America. She also emphasized how Joe Biden is the best candidate for the presidency and that people need to vote.
“You don’t need me to tell you things are a mess,” Eilish said on television. “Donald Trump is destroying our country and everything we care about.” And, she didn’t stop there. “We need leaders who will solve problems like climate change and COVID, not deny them. Leaders who will fight against systemic racism and inequality.”
“That starts by voting for someone who understands how much is at stake, someone who’s building a team that shares our values,” Eilish added. “It starts with voting against Donald Trump and for Joe Biden. Silence is not an option, and we cannot sit this one out. We all have to vote like our lives and the world depend on it, because they do,” she concluded. “The only ways to be certain about the future is to make it ourselves.”
Social media has since approved of Eilish’s support of Biden and Kamala Harris‘ bid for the presidency. They agree that Trump’s presidency has been terrible for the country and that his initial response to the COVID-19 pandemic was one of the worst moments of his presidency as well.
“Billie Eilish’s new song she just performed at the DNC was dope!” said @SammyMojito on Twitter. “Very hypnotic and melodic. The youth are our future. Let’s leave a good legacy for them. I see you, Billie!”

Eilish has also been very vocal on social media regarding racism and police brutality in America. She recently posted names who were killed by police such as George Floyd, Rayshard Brooks, Breonna Taylor, Oscar Grant, Alton Sterling, and more.
“Man FCK,” said Eilish on Instagram back in June regarding the murder of Rayshard Brooks in Atlanta by police. Watching this video made me so fucking angry. FCK THIS SIT. JUSTICE FOR RAYSHARD BROOKS. FCK THIS S*IIIIIIIIT. #justiceforrayshard !!!! WHY ISNT EVERYONE TALKING ABOUT THIS??”
