Los Angeles District Attorney Compares Sheriff To A Pig In Mud

Los Angeles is having a complete meltdown right now, both on and off the streets.
The “City of Angels” has become absolute pandemonium, and the rise in crime over the past few months has been astronomical.
The Blast previously reported how LA is being compared to the movie, “The Purge.”
Los Angeles is turning into "The Purge" according to officials
In case you aren’t familiar with the terrifying film, “The Purge” centers around a dystopian society where one day, 24 hours, out of every year ANYTHING GOES. That means robbery, murder, adultery, theft ... anything horrendous you imaginable is allowed.
LAPD Detective Jamie McBride is the one who made the comparison and is warning vacationers and tourists to STAY AWAY from LA.
On Monday, December 6, McBride appeared on FOX News and said he’s telling people “don’t visit because we don't think we can keep you safe right now.”
When comparing LA to “The Purge” he said, “instead of 24 hours to commit your crime, they have 365 days.”
Criminals have 365 days to commit crimes
McBride isn’t blaming the LAPD for this issue. Rather, he blames the increase in crime and violence on things like Proposition 47.
Prop 47 changed sentencing guidelines, as well as the state’s zero-bail policy.
McBride says this puts criminals back on the streets “faster than the off
Now, it’s apparent there is a major disconnect between the Los Angele Sheriff’s Department and the District Attorney’s office.
LA County DA, George Gascón, and LA County Sheriff Alex Villanueva are in a war of words.
LA County DA & Sheriff are at odds with one another
This week, Gascón held a news conference and spoke about the uptick in crimes and theft across the county.
Sheriff Villanueva has been very critical of Gascón, who is rounding out his first year in office.
He’s described Gascón’s first year in office as “god awful.”
Villanueva said Proposition 47 has reduced many crimes from felonies to misdemeanors, and that is a main reason why crime is on the rise.
“Then he comes into office and decides not to even prosecute the misdemeanors,” Villaneuva said. “So, you’re doubling down on a really bad idea and now we’re seeing the consequences of it.”
As previously mentioned, crime has increased, more specifically the number of smash-and-grab robberies and follow-home robberies.
Villanueva says this increase has made people “afraid to come out of the house.”
However, Gascón feels the rise in crime and thieves on the streets is not his fault at all.
“It’s not a question of whether I assume responsibility or not. I readily would if I thought there was a correlation,” Gascón said Wednesday.
A pig plays in mud and enjoys it
NEW: L.A. D.A. George Gascon was asked to respond to L.A. Sheriff Alex Villanueva’s call for him to be recalled.
“My dad used to say, when you wrestle with a pig, you both get muddy and the pig likes it,” Gascon said, adding he didn’t use the word to demean law enforcement. pic.twitter.com/2IHhvH9XIq

“The reality is that we go through these cycles, and we go through the cycles for a variety of reasons … In many ways we cannot prosecute our way out of social inequalities, income inequalities, the unhoused, the desperation that we have,” the DA said.
He then took aim at the Sheriff.
“My dad used to say that when you wrestle with a pig, you both get muddy and the pig likes it,” Gascón said before clarifying, “and that’s not pig in terms of using the term as law enforcement.”
