Supermodel Bella Hadid showed off her acting chops in a new campaign for Michael Kors that sees the younger Hadid sister stranded on a desert island à la Tom Hanks in “Cast Away.” The 3-minute long film, which was extremely slick and highly produced, features Bella Hadid flying to a “far away island” for a photo shoot with Michael Kors, only to get a message on arrival that nobody would be joining her on the shoot because of poor weather.
Not being one to back down from a challenge, Bella is seen trying to manage the photo shoot herself, which involves schlepping a huge mountain of luggage across the beach and setting up camp.
“I think I can handle it,” Bella texts Michael Kors before setting off on her own.
The supermodel then gets to work putting on a fashion show, and even a couple nearby parrots got in on the action by serving as the island fashion critics. All seemed to be going well until Bella spotted something in the water.
Jumping into action, Bella pulled her designer handbag, Carmen, to safety up on the beach.
“Stranded with my very own version of “Wilson”, if he was a bag…named Carmen,” Bella wrote on Instagram in reference to the famed volleyball.
After rescuing Carmen, Bella got to work on her photo shoot; scouting locations, constructing a “tripod” out of coconuts and even taking her own pictures with the help of some island ingenuity and construction. It all turned out pretty good and the supermodel pulled it off on her own.
After the day’s hard work, Bella took some time to build a pretty impressive sandcastle, which the narrator explains she learned on family vacations from her childhood.
The production by Bella and the Michael Kors team is pretty awesome, and the model revealed it was put together last year during a trip to the Dominican Republic.
Fans were also loving Bella’s campaign as it racked up over 300,000 views in the first few hours after going live, and fans have been praising it on Bella’s social media page with comments like, “THIS MADE MY DAY.”
