Katy Perry just gave an incredible tour of her new baby nursery on social media. The 35-year-old “Firework” singer seemed to be on the verge of crying every 10 seconds or so as she showed her adorable wall lights, crib, and changing table. All complemented with a nice rocking chair and earth-tone (orange clay?) colored walls.

The “Dark Horse” singer is so pregnant that the word is practically an understatement. Recent photos captured of her fiance Orlando Bloom and herself on the beach show that her due date could be any day now.

All of the recent pregnancy news comes after Perry released her latest song and album titled “Smile” would be releasing August 28th. The accompanying music videos and promotions have been massively successful online though fans may not be fully aware of what inspired such a unique branding approach taken for this album.

“This record is full of hopefulness and resilience and joy because it was made during a dark time when I was clinically depressed because I had a change in my career," Katy said. "The last record didn't necessarily meet my expectations."

Katy was of course referring to her “Witness” album which received mixed reviews. It topped the billboard 200 in its first week but wasn’t even in the top 10 by the next week. This caused Katy to go into a state of severe depression.

It got so bad that Perry revealed that she couldn’t even get out of bed in the morning!

She went on to describe how she was previously able to avoid being in a state of depression because she would “distract” herself.

'More Than I Had Ever Faced In My Life'

As time went on however, she realized this wasn’t a normal emotional state for herself since distractions weren’t working.

"It was more than I had ever faced in my life," Katy said. "I'd had bouts of depression before, but I had been able to avoid falling into the really dark depression by making music. It's like all these things you do to distract, you eat, you work, you get a new boyfriend, you shop."

Although things were bad enough there, they got worse as Katy says she started taking medication to deal with the depression.

'As A Human Being'

“I was so ashamed about being on medication because I was like...I wrote 'Firework,'" Katy continued. "But it was one of those things where I'd sprained my brain a little bit."

Thankfully her fiance Orlando Bloom has been a huge supporter to her and she has since come out of her depression not only with someone who truly cares about her but also with a renewed vision of what it means to be a music artist.

"It got me out of this loop of being a really desperate, thirsty pop star that felt like they had to be No. 1 all the time," Katy told Howard of the album. "Now I feel like I can create and be more dimensional as an artist and also as a human being."
