Ashley Tisdale has always been open with her fans on social media but she just shared her "most personal post" yet.

The actress posted a beachy bikini snap on Monday and revealed that she underwent breast implant removal surgery last winter. Ashley wore a cute floral two-piece suit and a relaxed expression. She chose this particular pic because it was taken a few months after the surgery and she was finally at peace after experiencing years of sickness allegedly related to the implants.

"Hey guys, this is probably the most personal post I’ve ever shared. As you know, I’ve been very open about my mental health journey and feel that this is equally important," the former Disney star began.

"Years ago I underwent breast enhancement surgery. Prior to the surgery, I constantly felt my body was less than, and thought this change would make me feel more whole and more secure about myself. And for a short period of time…it did," she wrote.

She continued by expressing that, in her case, the implants weren't all they were cracked up to be.

"But little by little I began struggling with minor health issues that just were not adding up—food sensitivities as well as gut issues (full story on @frenshe) that I thought could be caused by my implants. So, last winter I decided to undergo implant removal."

"This journey has been one of growth, self discovery, self acceptance and most importantly self-love. This picture above was taken two months after my explant surgery and I think you can tell just how happy I am to finally be fully me," Tisdale wrote.

The star decided that it was the perfect time to open up to her fans because she just launched a brand new brand called frenshe. The company boasts that it is focused on "helping you live your best non-toxic life."

"Over the years I’ve met with many holistic and non-holistic doctors and learned the importance of living a non-toxic life. I’m super excited to share with you what I’ve learned thus far, and would love for you to take this journey with me by following @frenshe, where we take an honest approach to our well-being and openly speak to health, beauty and everything in between. I can’t say I’m the proudest of the choices I made in the past but I don’t regret it because it got me here today. ❤️ Love you all! @frenshe is NOW LIVE!!"

Ashley isn't the only person who experienced side effects from having breast implants. In fact, reality star, Tiffany "New York" Polland appeared on the E! show "Botched" and opened up about her issues with her implants. Celebrity plastic surgeon, Terry Dubrow explained that these issues are becoming more common.

“There’s a Facebook group of, I think, 40,000 women who have come together complaining of all of these symptoms,” the Dr. said when he identified her issues as Breast Implant Illness (BII).

“If enough people have it, it’s a real thing.” "When you put a foreign body into a human," Dr. Dubrow continued, "it can have a lot of reactions to it and you can a lot of the kinds of things that we are seeing in Tiffany."
