Katy Perry continues to make headlines after announcing her pregnancy with her first child with baby daddy Orlando Bloom. The 35-year-old “Roar” singer took to Twitter on August 4th letting her followers know that she isn’t buying the criticism directed at Ellen, fully defending the talk show host.

While Katy has received support from fans, there are just as many who claim that her experience isn’t relevant since she is on a super-star level compared to the people who have complained about Ellen.

Katy’s original post actually praised Ellen as a wonderful talk show host and expressed how sorry she was to hear about what’s been going on.

"I know I can’t speak for anyone else’s experience besides my own but I want to acknowledge that I have only ever had positive takeaways from my time with Ellen & on the @theellenshow," she tweeted at the time. "I think we all have witnessed the light & continual fight for equality that she has brought to the world through her platform for decades. Sending you love & a hug, friend."

Perry recently told the Las Angeles Times that she never meant her post to be a way to undermine other people’s complaints or experiences, and that she only meant to share how she’s been treated by Ellen.

“I started that tweet off not undermining anyone else’s experience,” Perry said. “I wanted to only speak from my own experience. I have over 100 million people that follow me on Twitter, so not everyone is going to agree with me. And I’m not here to make everyone agree with me.”

3. Fans Aren't Buying It

The big problem with many celebrities claiming to have had good experiences with Ellen is that there is a legality issue. Of course famous people like Ashton Kutcher and Kevin Hart are reputable, but they are prominent figures in their respective industries.

The primary complaints which have since created a stir of criticisms and controversy came from employees with the Ellen Show. Even with famous people defending Ellen, many are discrediting their testimonies as severely biased.

Although Katy has received a lot of negative feadback on her post, she insists that she only advocates her own experience, nothing more or less.

4. Katy Staying Busy

Katy hasn’t actually been paying that much attention to her social media in light of her pregnancy and announcement of her upcoming album. The “Dark Horse” singer released a brand new song titled “Smile” and has taken numerous photos in color full outfits and environments.

Orlando and Perry haven’t announced an official engagement yet, but the two have expressed their deep desire to get married when they can book venues that aren’t closed down due to the Coronavirus and lockdowns.
