Josh Duggar has been found guilty on both child pornography charges against him. The father of six is facing up to 20 years in prison on each count.
Josh Duggar Child Pornography Charges
TMZ shared that the former reality star is charged with one count each of receiving and possessing child pornography. If you weren’t disgusted enough it was revealed that some of the images included minors 12 and under.
Duggar’s wife Anna Duggar has been standing by her man since the beginning and was even seen attending his last courting appearance with him despite being heavily pregnant. The trial showed two sides of Duggar; on one hand, he is a local businessman who may have been manipulated and that’s how all that child porn ended up on three of his devices.
On the other hand, he has done this before and he may have just been trying to cover up his indiscretions… poorly. Prosecutors believe and argued that Duggar went out of his way to elaborate a plan to hide his dirty secret using his work devices to do so.
Josh Duggar’s Office Was Raided
The 19 Kids and Counting alum came under suspicion in 2019. A raid of his Arkansas car dealership came up shady. DHS agents seized Duggar’s computer, his iPhone, and his MacBook from an RV.
The trial lasted two weeks and included damming evidence against Duggar including testimony from forensic analysis. The trial also had witnesses including one from a family friend who shared that Duggar had confessed to them that he had been molesting children. The witness apparently broke down on the stand recounting the moment.
Throughout the trial, it was noted that Duggar stayed looking down and refused to put his head up. Probably struggling to look at the witnesses and absorb the testimonies out of embarrassment.
Josh Duggar Inappropriately Touched His Sisters
Fans of the once-popular TLC reality show know that this is not the first time Duggar has been accused of inappropriate behavior. The show was once put on hiatus before being canceled altogether because it came to light that Duggar used to sneak into his younger sister’s rooms and inappropriately touch them.
The news came as a shock because the family was known for their strong faith and wholesome demeanor. Duggar was already out of the house and married to Anna when the news broke. TLC stopped featuring the eldest Duggar sibling in their show and any spinoffs featuring the family.
It is unclear exactly how many and which sisters were affected by their brother’s disgusting behavior but thankfully, the girls are thriving, and TLC gave them their own spinoff to prove that.
Josh Duggar Still Has To Be Sentenced
Now that Duggar has been charged and gone to trial, the only thing left to do is sentence him. As we mentioned earlier, he faces up to 20 years per count and it can go either way. He was also fined $250,000 on each count so there goes half a million.
As for the family, parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar released a statement soon after their son was arrested noting that they support him no matter what.
