Fans are only one week away from “The Masked Singer” finale.

Last night, the Banana Split Duo and the Queen of Hearts battled it out for a shot at facing the Bull in the finales. In addition to solo performances, the masked contestants also performed duets with judges Robin Thicke and Nicole Scherzinger, respectively.

At the end of the night, audiences voted, and the Banana Split Duo was put up for elimination. Scherzinger, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, and Ken Jeong all put singer-songwriter Katharine McPhee and her husband, David Foster, a 16-time Grammy winner, and record producer, as their first impression guesses.

For those interested in which judge will take home the Golden Ear trophy next week, Scherzinger and Jeong are tied with two points each, while McCarthy and Thicke only have one point each.

The Banana Split Duo Can’t Believe That Robin Didn’t Guess Them

In an interview after their unmasking, the couple couldn’t believe that Thicke wasn’t able to figure it out when the rest of the judges identified them so easily.

McPhee explained that her husband had known “Nicole for many years since he discovered her, adding, “And Robin Thicke since he was a little baby because David was best friends with his dad.”

However, she told Foster her theory on how Thicke got it wrong.

“My take on Robin [Thicke] claiming that he didn't know who you were, you might have a different take, but I think he knew exactly who we were, he just didn't want to… he wanted to do some good old fashioned TV acting and not make it such a home run for all the judges. So I think he knew. There's no way he wouldn't know who David is. He would just know the way David's mannerisms were. He's known you since he was a baby.”

McPhee was also surprised that all of the rest of the judges pegged her from the very first performance.

“I was honestly pretty surprised that they guessed us so quickly,” McPhee continued. “Not so much that they wouldn't know who you are, I mean, obviously they would know who you are. But I was more surprised that they recognized my voice so quickly? Like I didn't think that my voice was so specific or recognizable. I just kind of thought that they wouldn't.”

McPhee Is Upset That She Didn’t Score A Win In Yet ANOTHER Singing Competition

McPhee first got her start as runner-up on the fifth season of “American Idol” in 2006. She debuted in the same season as Chris Daughtry, who came in fourth in the long-running singing competition.

When asked if they were very upset that they didn’t make it to the finales, McPhee responded, “Are you kidding me? I was very upset.”

“She was,” Foster added.

“I was very upset that we got kicked off,” McPhee continued. “My husband — you were looking at me like, ‘That's okay, baby’ — and I was just so disappointed. I really wanted to take it all. You know, to speak of American Idol, I came in second on American Idol. I wanted to take this one home and it just didn't happen again. So maybe it's just not in the cards for me to be number one but…”

When Foster brought up another Fox competition, “Dancing With the Stars,” McPhee quickly shot him down, saying, “That will never happen.”

“She did great, though, on the show,” Foster concluded. “And you know, we lost in the finals to Queen of Hearts, so if she winds up dead somewhere we definitely did it. Just saying.”

“The Masked Singer” finale between the Bull and the Queens of Hearts airs next Wednesday, December 15, at 8 PM EST on Fox.
