Many celebrities have done an amazing job of using their platforms to call for justice for Breonna Taylor. It's now been over 150 days since she was shot and killed in her home by Louisville police. These men were Jonathan Mattingly, Brett Hankison, and Myles Cosgrove. Hankison has since been fired and has been trying to appeal the firing all while going on vacation with his family with no remorse for the murder that he contributed to. Now, Cardi B is calling for more voices to speak out.

Cardi B appeared on the cover of Elle for their September issue today and one of the discussions was about Taylor. In this interview, she called on for more male rappers to speak about this injustice with the hope that arrests and charges are made in this case.

“[I saw] Breonna Taylor’s name everywhere, but I didn’t really know her story,” Cardi explained. “What they did to her is really f*cked up… What’s the excuse? “Why is the cop not in jail? Wasn’t what he did a crime? It’s a crime! And no apology."

"No video of the cop coming out crying, ‘I f*cked up.’... Nothing. I don’t even know how her mom still holds her head up.” A woman like Breonna Taylor, she was young.

"She looked like she was listening to your music," said Cardi regarding Taylor being a fan of male rappers. "She looked like she was your fan. You should stick up for her.”

Cardi then went on to call out these officers for leaving Taylor's body in the house. Taylor's mother, Tamika Palmer, had already been told Taylor was at the hospital.

Taylor was shot eight times by Louisville police.

“Imagine how frustrated her mom was, crying, probably hysterical — the cops call her saying her daughter is in the hospital, and her daughter is not even there,” Cardi added. “Then the person who’s supposed to protect her is asking her mom, ‘Do you know anybody who [would] want to hurt Breonna Taylor?’ when you guys know who killed her.”

In a June Instagram post, Cardi called on everyone to not let police get away with this. She added that all three officers need to be in jail.

These officers originally stormed into Taylor's home due to them believing that it was a nearby drug house that they were looking for. It turned out that the suspects being searched for were already in custody by the time they entered Taylor's home. They entered due to a "no-knock warrant" they obtained. Kenneth Walker, Taylor's boyfriend, ended up shooting his gun due to thinking intruders were in the house. Taylor was shot eight times. Since the killing, the no-knock warrants have been banned but is taking much too long to arrest and charge these officers. Walker's charges were dropped in May.
